On the ground floor, there’s a spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with everything you’ll need for a comfortable stay. Parc Bryn Bach, a nature reserve and activity centre (8 miles), is also worth a visit, as are Abergavenny, Crickhowell (both 10 miles) and Brecon (20 miles). They are all delightful market towns, boasting local delicacies and crafts in their independent shops. If you’re intrigued by Wales’ industrial past, visit the Big Pit National Coal Museum (6 miles).
