A detached stone farmhouse 2 miles from Bala, a market town home to one of Wales’ largest freshwater lakes. The dog-friendly farmhouse features cosy living areas, an enclosed garden and easy access to the cultural, historical and natural attractions strewn across the southern fringe of Snowdonia National Park.

The farmhouse stands at the end of a sweeping drive in an elevated position overlooking stunning countryside. While it has been updated to meet contemporary tastes and needs, this farmhouse has lost none of its original character, with exposed beams, walls and more peppered about its bright and airy rooms. There are numerous places to relax, from the cosy lounge and games room to the snug, all of which are perfect for when guests want their own space. The kitchen/diner is always a hub of activity, a place to experiment with local food and enjoy hearty meals throughout the day. A handy utility room and a stylish bathroom both stand on the ground floor. Two separate staircases lead up to the first floor, home to two king-size bedrooms and a twin bedroom, each of which offers wonderful views. Relaxation of different kinds can be found in the upstairs shower room or landing library. The enclosed garden is all set up for BBQ suppers, dog-friendly children’s games or just soaking up the view.

Guests looking for activities in the local area will be spoilt for choice, that is if they can tear themselves away from the comfort of the farmhouse. Lake Bala (1 mile) can be explored both around its perimetre and on the water. Bala is only 2 miles away and is brimming with dog- and family-friendly attractions. Snowdonia National Park is home to a seemingly unending array of mountains, lakes and wooded valleys which can be explored by various means.

This a wonderful cottage with the most amazing views, very private and peaceful. It's very well equipped, warm and well insulated. It's also more spacious that the photographs suggest - it's got loads of room, perfect for a family holiday. Lots of hiking trails are nearby, and easy access by car to Bala Llyn Tegid and the national white water centrRead moree at Fron-goch. The ice cream place on the Bala high street, Aran Hufen Ia, is a must-visit, their homemade ice cream is excellent. Hide

We had a wonderful time at Ty Mawr & were really sad to leave. Mike was on hand if needed yet very discreet & his sidekick Ken (sheep dog!) was an absolute delight.
