Perfect for a family group or couples, this 19th-century cottage is set on a working farm a mile from the seaside village of Abersoch, which has plenty of shops and places to eat and drink. The Llyn Peninsula, where the Welsh language and way of life still flourish, is renowned for its beautiful beaches and coastline, walks and water sports, and Abersoch itself has a sheltered, sandy beach that is very popular. Here you can try wakeboarding, paddleboarding, waterskiing, windsurfing and sailing, or take a boat trip to St Tudwal's and Bardsey Islands. Alternatively, Porth Neigwl (Hell’s Mouth, 2.5 miles) is the must-visit beach for surfers and body boarders. You might want to stroll some of the coastal path, which is accessible just half a mile from the cottage, or tackle The Rivals, a 4.5 mile walk that includes the highest point on the peninsula (15 miles away). Abersoch Golf Club and Llanbedrog Riding Centre are both 1.5 miles away.

This semi-detached farm cottage is wonderfully atmospheric, especially in the cosy lounge, where the stone wall and oak beams really catch the eye. Here, comfortable leather sofas are grouped around the TV and the wood burner-effect electric fire. The large kitchen has a sociable dining area at one end and is equipped with everything you’ll need to prepare a range of meals easily. Upstairs, there is a gorgeous double bedroom with an en-suite shower room, a further double bedroom, and a twin room – all of them with charming, beamed ceilings, pretty lighting and stylish furnishings – as well as a smart family bathroom.

A generously sized, enclosed patio at the front of the cottage is a marvellous place to sit back, relax, enjoy a meal or simply take in the lovely views towards the sea and mountains in the distance.
