“We have been to many self-catering places but I can honestly say this cottage ranks near, or even actually at, the top. Food left for us, flowers in the rooms, everything we wished for was provided. We were all stunned by the view as we came over the brow of the hill. My husband thought the only thing missing is a butler. Everyone enjoyed this break. Thank you very much” Woolnough & Wolstencroft Families
“Our great hosts made us feel extremely welcome and immediately at home. We all enjoyed our stay and had a great week. Highlights being mountain biking and Go Ape! Very pleasant place to stay. Thank you. PS, we loved the log fire and thanks for the sausages.” Steve, Faye & Ben

"Sugar-Loaf proved the most amazingly helpful agents imaginable - going far out of their way at the busiest time of year to find us something, make sure it suited us and to accommodate our (every) wish along the way.

Lower Lodge is in the most glorious setting imaginable, warm, cosy and clean, and the hosts (and their dogs) were as welcoming as one could possibly hope for.

We recommend both the agents and the property most highly"
Christopher and Natasha

Lower Lodge

With a wonderful open fire, south facing bedrooms and unspoilt views across the Vale of Usk towards the mountains, this pretty holiday cottage is the perfect bolt hole for a real taste of country life.

Sitting in-front of ancient woodland on a quiet farming estate, this rural holiday cottage has a large enclosed private garden and complete peace and quiet, with a wonderful lack of light pollution.

On a clear day, the church tower from nearby Cwmcarvan can be seen across the hills, as can Craig-y-Dorth, site of ancient battles. Life is somewhat quieter here in modern times and relaxation is what is on offer! Incredibly quiet at night time, you can enjoy the night sky and the distant sounds of the owls calling.

As well as being great for pets and family, Lower Lodge is well suited to a romantic break for two. With a tempting 10% discount from the listed price outside of school holidays if there are only two people staying at the cottage.

This cottage is also well suited to those with limited mobility, with a light and sunny downstairs twin bedroom and a downstairs wet room with assistance handles in the shower, should they be needed.
