"We were lucky enough to be the first to stay in this brand new and beautifully appointed cottage! ...the kitchen's an absolute dream, with stunning windows and views!. The farm animals and snooker table were a big hit with the kids and we found so much to see and do locally. The location was great..quiet and peaceful, but close enough to eating places and the town. It was our first visit to the Brecon Beacons and we would definitely recommend a holiday here, with the Bull Pen an ideal place to stay". The Hawkins Family

The Bull Pen

With the old bull long retired into the surrounding fields, his pen makes a rather unique spot to spend a week or two soaking up the atmosphere of farm life...although we're pleased to report this is a very quiet farm with no large, noisy tractors in sight.

With ponies poking their heads above the stable door, lambs gambling in the fields throughout Spring and cattle grazing the gentle slopes, this relaxed holiday cottage makes a fun, quick getaway from city life.

The kitchen is housed in the main pen where the amorous chap would have spent much of his time, the huge bars that restrained him now house large panes of glass making it a great room to start the day in, with views across the back of the farm and across the fields. There is a large scrubbed farmhouse table for a hearty meal or two and a great wood burner to ensure you are really cosy at night time

The main cottage is all on one level, making it really handy should anyone have limited mobility and actually just a pleasant change from all those stairs! The one exception is the snug, which as well as offering lovely country views, can be screened off and sleep a fifth person if the need arose - or make a playroom for the week!

If you tire of the country views or lovely walks down by the Usk River, then you can take full advantage of the indoor squash court or outdoor tennis court (by prior arrangement with the owners) which are located in the grounds, so don't forget your racquets!

Dogs are welcome here and they will enjoy the lovely local walks, or stride further afield into the nearby Black Mountains. With wooden or tiled floors throughout and a wood burner to sleep infront of, this property is particularly great for pets.
