The Sugar Loaf Shepherds

Black Mountains & Brecon Beacons
As featured in ITV's Holiday Home Sweet Home series, we just love these new huts! Perched on the Sugar Loaf Mountain with total privacy, spectacular views and the pub just a short drive away these beautiful Black Mountain Shepherds Huts have been hand crafted by the owners of Sugar Loaf Barn with the same high quality finish, attention to detail and artisan signature all over them! Plus there is a yummy welcome basket and a warm welcome from your hosts on arrival.

Set in ancient pasture where folklore has it that Edmund Tudor had his home lined up directly with one of the windows of Raglan Castle, the views from the huts are truly spectacular and they have been expertly placed to take full advantage of them....even from the hammock!

We love the camp fire, perfect for toasting marshmallows and admiring the dry stone walling which will be a hot contender in this years local dry stone walling competition!

This unique pair of hut have been carefully crafted with comfort and style at the forefront, much of the frame and interior has been reclaimed and up cycled from building the beautiful Sugar Loaf Barn, hidden away down the hill. The first hut is particularly large, with large glass doors giving a great view of the Black Mountains and designed to be a pleasure to live in whatever the weather. It houses a double cabin bed, feather down duvet, crisp cotton sheets and proper mattress, subtly curtained off to maximize privacy. Then there is a "proper" kitchen, oak floors, slate worktop, a gas burning hob, wood burning stove / oven and hand built units...phew! There is also a tv, dining table and chairs, as well as a cosy sofa/day bed, which makes an extra child's bed if needed.

Across the terrace (no need for grassy feet!), the second hut houses two cosy bunk beds, all again with proper bedding and sheets which cleverly converts into a comfy sofa in the day. Kids will love the fact there is a tv / dvd on the wall as well! There is also a second wood burner in the hut so everyone can be kept warm all year round. The shower room can be found in this hut, with a proper shower, basin and loo, all plumbed in and with fluffy towels provided.

Perfect romantic seclusion in the heart of the Welsh countryside, another place we know you'll just love!
