Enjoying an enviable location at the foot of the Skirrid, this roof top apartment is the perfect base for couples who are looking to get away whatever the time of year.

Step up into your own private rooftop apartment in the eaves of a tea room and fall in love with this dreamy retreat. At the foot of Skirrid Mountain, this open-plan property has unyielding charm, combining traditional themes with contemporary influences. Just perfect for two, you can enjoy direct access to some of Wales’ most fabulous scenery and walks, returning to your bolthole to cook up a feast or curl up on the sofa, fingers entwined.

Accessible via wrought iron steps, the apartment elevates you into a world far removed from the rush of everyday life. Let your mind unravel as you drink in the views from the private terrace, an idyllic spot to sip your morning coffee. Sporting an open-plan layout, light floods the lounge/kitchen/diner and plush furnishings and modern appliances provide you with the ultimate in convenience and comfort. Exposed beams and ceiling lights add a special touch, and the space’s neutral decor oozes a peaceful tranquillity. Separate from the main living area, a cosy double bedroom with Velux window is the perfect place to gaze up at the night’s sky from the comfort of your duvet.

Surrounded by the Black Mountains on the eastern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park and the Wye Valley, Skirrid Hideaway is a wanderer’s paradise. Across the road you can begin your walk up Skirrid Mountain itself and, upon reaching the top, take in the sprawling views of the Black Mountains and Monmouthshire. For a romantic meal for two or a touch of window shopping, Abergavenny is 2 miles away. Make sure you pay a visit to the area’s castles too, with Abergavenny Castle and Crickhowell Castle 3 and 8.5 miles away respectively.

Lovely apartment in beautiful area with lots to do and see and ideal for walking. However it didn't have an information book so we had to Google recycling, local information etc and had no safety information. There was only 2 sets of crockery which was inconvenient, more baking equipment would have made cooking easier. The cafe was also closed all Read moreweek so we didn't get the benefit of that or to meet the hosts. Overall we were slightly disappointed in our stay Hide

If anybody is looking at the photos and is slightly concerned that headroom might be restricted by the eaves, we did not find this s problem. The apartment is more spacious that the photos allow.

Excellent friendly and helpful hosts. The cottage is close to many attractions and walks of varying difficulty. Easy walks in Abergavenny town and the Keepers Pond nearby are worth exploring. The food, cakes and icecream in the tearoom downstairs are very tasty.
