A stunning 17th Century, Grade II listed farmhouse, nestled in the Radnorshire hills. Just a short drive from the Brecon Beacons National Park and the literary town of Hay-on-Wye.

Escape the hustle and bustle and sneak off to this fantastic farmhouse for a holiday filled with fresh air, adventure and good times. Spend days out and about exploring the surrounding scenery and stick chasing spots for your four-legged family members, then retire for the night in one of many communal rooms where charm, character and sophistication are aplenty.

With a handful of lovely spaces to choose from, flick the kettle on and enjoy a warming mug of tea in a place of your choice. Put your feet up in the lounge where you can curl up with a book, challenge fellow guests to a game or simply sip your brew and switch off. Alternatively, grab a moment to yourself in the second lounge on the second floor where a scattering of chairs invites you to settle down. Cook up a storm in the stylish kitchen/diner and either plate up in the grand dining room with its wood burner effect oil fire and vibrant splashes of colour, or serve up a feast outside and dine alfresco. Summer months might tempt you into wanting a BBQ, in which case you’re in luck! Sizzle up treats and enjoy. Two bedrooms each lie on both the first and second floors and are delightfully decorated to ensure a good night’s sleep. Take care on the second floor where sloping ceilings are created in the eaves of the house. Wake feeling refreshed and take a wander around the garden where you will find a lovely pond.

Set off early and travel 5.5 miles to the literary town of Hay-on-Wye where book shops line the streets which are also dotted with tasty eateries. Continue 25 miles into the centre of the Brecon Beacons National Park and summit Pen-y-Fan, the highest point in South Wales sitting at 866m above sea level.

This is a lovely place to stay the farmhouse is homely and has some lovely quirky touches. It may be worth noting that that this property is part of a courtyard and the view from the main house is of another property which is not evident from the pictures. However, this is a great property which has some great walks on the doorstep.

Really comfortable and isolated retreat to recharge one's life. Would hate to think how we would have vacated on time had there been snow.

Wern Fawr is the perfect place for a quiet and peaceful break. The view form the decking enjoyed from a swing bench is very calming. The house is very comfortable and easy to be in and to manage. It is very spacious with a few seating areas on all levels to isolate oneself if needed. The beds were comfortable and the linen fresh and crisp. GREAT HOLIDAY HOME! The farmhouse is beautiful, stylish & comfortable! Ive never been in a kitchen which is so well stocked for utensils!
