Embrace off-grid living and stripping back to nature at this beautiful bothy where oil lamps flicker into the night and crackling logs keep the chill at bay. Snuggle beneath soft sheepskins and bubble the night away in the wood fired hot tub before savouring delicious flavours and feasting your eyes on rural views. Nestled above the Brecon Beacons National Park in National Trust Common Land, explore and enjoy dramatic, romantic walks without straying far from home.

Follow steps through the trees and enjoy a fairy tale approach to this characterful home which is bursting with charm and quirk. Beautiful leaded windows let natural light fill the space and when day turns to dusk, oil fired lamps and moonlight will twinkle inside creating a magical ambience in which to relax. Natural materials and tranquil, earthy tones invite you to relax in the open-plan living space where you can curl up on the sofa, throw logs on the wood burner or chop ingredients on the wooden worktops. Bathe alfresco in the free-standing, clawfoot tub or bubble and soak in the romantic hot tub before bed. The mezzanine-style bedroom sits within the eaves of the bothy, is reached via a ladder and welcomes you with soft Welsh blankets.

Please note the property is off grid and so has no electricity, mobile signal or wi-fi. All cooking is done on the wood burner.

Enjoy your wonderfully peaceful location amongst trees, meadows and a babbling stream and roam the National Trust common land without a care in the world. If you fancy venturing further afield and enjoying the gentle hustle and bustle of a vibrant town, make the 4.5-mile trip to Hay-on-Wye where second-hand bookshops dot the streets, and you can indulge in delicious plates of food. For waterside walks with a splash of adventure, travel 16 miles to Llangorse Lake where you can take in the views or visit the activity centre.

This is a very special little cabin in a beautiful setting! It is off grid but has everything you need to be comfortable and even enjoy some incredible luxuries like a hot bath or hot tub outside under the stars. Just a wonderful place to spend time, slow down and connect with the land and people around you.

I have stayed in a lot of cottages and cabins around the U.K. - I have to say, for a couples retreat Ty Bach was absolutely stunning. We were warmly welcomed and made to feel really comfortable.
