Property code: 79176

Retreat to rural tranquillity at this stunning detached property in the Herefordshire countryside. Located in the peaceful hamlet of Longtown at the foot of the Blackdown Hills, you will never tire of the breathtaking views of Hatterall Ridge. After a busy day, enjoy a dip in your private hot tub under the stars. Despite the secluded location, there is a pub and shop within a few hundred metres and the market town of Abergavenny is 10.5 miles.

A wonderful juxtaposition of old and new, the beautifully renovated original cottage is connected to the contemporary extension with a stunning glass corridor. The wood-clad extension houses the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, where families/friends can enjoy quality time together. A wood burner at one end creates a warm, cosy atmosphere in winter, whilst in the summer, you can bring the outside in, by opening up the large sliding doors. The exquisite bedrooms are in the original cottage, along with the modern bathroom and shower room. Stepping outside, the terrace is spectacular with its manicured lawn, dining area, private hot tub and far-reaching panoramic views.

The Black Mountains are the first range in the Brecon Beacons National Park, so outdoor enthusiasts will be well-placed to enjoy a number of activities such as walking, canoeing and mountain biking. Walkers can join the nearby Offa’s Dyke pathway along the dramatic English/Welsh border and follow the ridge across to Hay Bluff. You also have the Sugar Loaf and Table Mountain within 17 miles, where you will be rewarded at the top with more stunning views. For quaint market towns, head to charming Crickhowell (16.5 miles) or book-lovers’ haven, Hay-on-Wye (17.5 miles).
