This beautifully presented one-bedroom cottage with country charm, enjoys a quiet spot at the edge of the national park with easy access to the many walks and trails.

The charming cottage, on the northern fringe of the Brecon Beacons National Park, sleeps two guests, making it ideal for couples seeking a quiet base in idyllic surroundings. A pretty garden wraps around the property, providing opportunities for al fresco dining. The bedroom has a balcony overlooking the garden – the perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee. Several walking routes branch away from the cottage, and you’ll also be within easy reach of the beautiful Llangorse Lake (3 miles), where you can take waterside strolls and admire the local wildlife.

A private drive leads through the owner’s grounds to the cottage. Once inside, discover a bright and airy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner decorated in a country-cottage style. On a summer’s day, throw open the French doors to the garden and let a gentle breeze flow through. After a romantic dinner for two at the rustic dining table, retire to the comfy sofa for a cwtch in front of the cosy wood burner. At the end of the day, climb the stairs to the fabulous bedroom, which is nestled in the eves. A mature garden envelops the property. It’s a real sun trap and there are two benches where you can sip a glass of wine and recharge your batteries.

The area is a haven for walkers and wildlife enthusiasts. Head to the stunning Talybont Reservoir (7 miles) for a picturesque circular walk linking up with the Brecon and Monmouthshire Canal, or journey to Llangorse Lake to explore the local wildlife from a rowing boat or stand-up paddleboard. Pen y Fan - the highest mountain in Southern Britain – is also just 8.5 miles from the property. The market town of Abergavenny is 17 miles away and is known for its fantastic range of eateries and has a popular food festival each year.

A beautiful little cottage away from the hussle & bussle of everyday life. Everything was well thought out and good quality. Clean, cute and very cosy, even though in August we didn't need to use the log burner!

A lovely welcoming cottage, equipped to a high standard. A real bonus having both a washing machine and dishwasher in the kitchen. Beautiful garden which we had access to, so many birds to watch and daily visits from a squirrel. Great base for exploring and a nice pub only a short walk away up through the lanes.
