Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this attractive cedar cabin on the border between England and Wales makes an ideal honeymoon hideaway or romantic couples’ retreat.

Escape from it all for a romantic break for two in this secluded cabin, just outside the picturesque town of Hay-on-Wye (1 mile). The stunning property has its own private veranda under the stars, and you’re also welcome to explore the owner’s beautiful garden and orchard. On arrival, you’ll have a fabulous welcome pack to enjoy. Wander into Hay to browse the quirky bookstores and cute cafes, or head south for remote hikes in the wild and rugged Black Mountains.

The simple, stylish property is the perfect backdrop to a memorable holiday. Its unique interior, with exposed woodwork, delicate drapes, and pretty soft furnishings, makes the open-plan space feel warm and inviting. Share a delicious meal for two at the dining table next to the window, before curling up in an armchair to read a book or watch a film on the TV. To the rear of the cabin, you’ll find the sumptuous double bed, cleverly separated from the rest of the living space with a curtain. Outside, admire the panoramic views from your veranda or dine alfresco on the patio, surrounded by trees and in the glowing warmth of the chimenea.

Hay-on-Wye is a truly unique town. As well as its plethora of bookshops, you’ll find fascinating antique stores, fabulous eateries, and exquisite architecture. In summer, join the locals at the riverside beach, The Warren, where you can enjoy a picnic and a splash in the water. There are also some gorgeous walks from here, following the River Wye. Heading south, you’ll come to the Black Mountains, where you’ll find rugged scenery and jaw-dropping views. Climb to the summit of Hay Bluff (6.5 miles), at the northern tip of the mountains, for a spectacular vista across the Wye Valley.

We found the pavilion really clean, comfortable and cozy, with all the basic equipment we might need. My favourite thing was sitting on the little verandah with my morning cuppa, listening to the dozens of species of birds in the re-wilded garden. Lots of interesting places to visit within a short drive too.

We had a wonderful week at Little Cedars Pavillion, only a stones throw from Hay-on-Wye which is full of fantastic shops and cafes! My first holiday in 10 years couldn't have been better placed. Clyro is well situated, a short 4 minute drive from Hay on Wye and 20 minutes from Brecon. The cottage itself is set into the hillside looking across the wye valley, allowing for stunning views as well as seclusion. The cottage had everything I needed from a fridge to a cooker and was vRead moreery clean and well looked after. I must also say the owners were exceptionally kind and great to talk to. Easy recommendation and I will return. Hide
