Enjoying a quiet spot in the welcoming market town of Llandovery, this lovely townhouse makes a perfect retreat for families and couples looking for a relaxing base for a pleasant country break

An inviting townhouse sprinkled with a touch of elegance and tucked away in a leafy corner of Llandovery, this wonderful hideaway is perfect for small families or couples and their four-pawed companions. Saunter along cobbled streets past colourful houses and visit the moss-covered ruins of Llandovery Castle, before catching some crisp afternoon rays perched on your terrace with al fresco afternoon nibbles.

This sleek property oozes sophisticated country charm combining minimalist design with opulent wooden features, stable doors, and exposed beams. Unravel yourself from the layers of woolly scarves and hats then step into the cosy lounge. Sink onto the comfortable sofas, sip a fresh brew, and warm your chilly toes with the crackling wood burner-effect fire. Potter through to the airy shaker kitchen and whip up an indulgent snack board or pop a good bottle of red and perch at the breakfast bar to accompany the resident chef. With the scent of your favourite comfort food drifting in the air, gather in the grand dining space, raise a glass, and enjoy a celebratory dinner with your nearest and dearest. Retire upstairs to the two en-suite bedrooms consisting of a flexible king/twin aptly named Cwtch (Welsh for cuddle) and a double named Cariad (Welsh for love). Take advantage of balmy mornings and lounge beneath the silver birch trees on the patio with a morning coffee or stargaze beneath the twinkling dark skies at night.

Explore the quaint village of Myddfai, 3 miles, to browse the local farmer’s market for sumptuous food samples and unique locally produced souvenirs. Amble along the woodland trail at Cwm Rhaeadr, 6 miles, alongside the fragrant bluebell-speckled meadows, or follow the waterfall walk to spot cascading waters tumbling down the mountainside. Satisfy the history buffs of the group with a visit to the impressive 12th-Century Dinefwr Castle, 14 miles.
