Property code: BN434

Enjoying a lovely position at the top of a private garden, this welcoming holiday property is located close to Hay-on-Wye at the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Accommodating two guests, this cosy wooden cabin provides the perfect backdrop for a romantic getaway to South Wales.

The Brecon Beacons are arguably one of the most romantic spots in the UK thanks to the miles of beautiful green valleys, clear night skies and imposing mountains. This quirky property is ideal for two and ideally positioned for exploring, placing you close to Hay-on-Wye with its treasure trove of book shops and eateries. Round off your adventures with a bottle of something delicious and a dinner for two al fresco, enjoying the fire pit and BBQ.

Perched at the top of the owner’s garden yet with guaranteed privacy, this delightful property is perfect for two. Retreat from the outside world by climbing the short staircase and crossing the decking, entering the compact yet cosy cabin. Wooden cladding, high ceilings and simple decor create a comfortable ambience for reclining on the bed and watching TV, and you’ll have everything you need to rustle up light meals in the kitchen/diner. After a day of adventures, there’s nothing nicer than sitting outside with a glass of wine. The gardens also feature a fire pit and a BBQ for an extra treat, and you are welcome to share the owner’s acre of gardens with its small orchard.

Although there are walks and cycle routes galore from your doorstep, you’ll also be well placed for investigating off the beaten track. Try wild swimming at The Warren, a river meadow 1.5 miles away, before descending on the streets of Hay-on-Wye to sample local fare at one of the many eateries, picking up a good read in one of the second-hand book shops. Llangorse Lake is a must for water sports 13 miles away, where you can try sailing, paddleboarding and canoeing against a backdrop of mountain peaks.
