Set out for an unforgettable holiday in the Brecon Beacons at this warm and welcoming holiday cottage. It’s an enchanting retreat for a family escape or to get away with good friends.

Treat yourselves to a stay at the very heart of the market town of Brecon, at the northern tip of the scenic Brecon Beacons National Park. Sleeping four guests, and also welcoming one four-legged friend with open paws, the two-bedroom cottage is ideal for anyone seeking that perfect balance of convenience and countryside beauty. Enjoy being close to shops, cafes and restaurants, while also being surrounded by fabulous places to walk, climb and indulge in other outdoor activities. Discover historic sights, stroll beside lakes and rivers and go canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding.

Wander into this two-storey, stone holiday home to find yourselves in the characterful lounge, with its revealed stonework, where you can watch TV together in the evenings or perhaps unwind with your book. Challenge each other to a game of pool, make a fresh cup of coffee in the machine in the kitchen then decide whose turn it is to cook. Find the kitchen/diner has all the equipment you could require for preparing meals, plus a table for jolly, holiday dinners together. Also on the ground floor, is a WC. Climb the stairs to find the family bathroom, together with a super-king-size bedroom, which that can be arranged as twins if discussed in advance, and a king-size room. Dine out in the courtyard garden as often as the weather permits and find there is space to store your cycles securely while you are here. The cottage comes with parking for one car.

Wander the streets of the market town, browsing in its interesting shops. Take time out to see the cathedral, stroll beside the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal and even take a barge out on the water. Drive 7 miles to Llangorse Lake to enjoy a 3-mile, circular walk and to try a variety of water sports.

This is a great place to stay and comfortably accommodated our part of four adults. We really appreciated being right in the middle of the town as this gave us many good options when the rain came! It was great fun using the pool table and darts. Brecon is such a great town and area we all wished we were staying for longer.

We loved our stay at The Stables. The cottage was comfortable, beautifully furnished & suited all our needs. The surrounding area is stunning, we were lucky to be there during a hot dry sunny spell. Fantastic place for walkers, we would recommend you climb Pen Y Fan, walk the four waterfalls, take a canal boat trip from Brecon, visit Cardiff & eat Read moreat the Brecon Tandoori (near the bridge), our food there was amazing. This is one of the cleanest dog friendly cottages that weve stayed in. The owners appear to have spent a lot of money to ensure that your stay is absolutely first class. The only negative is that the parking was a bit of a squeeze for our Qashqai the owners have done everything they can to make this easier by having the entrance widened. But dont lRead moreet that put you off. This is a fantastic cottage in a great location that has everything you could need. Hide

Wow - we were totally amazed and delighted with The Stables. Exceptionally clean, superbly equipped and in a fantastic location. We couldn't have asked for better accomodation. Some may find the parking tight, but with some careful moves, it is fine (we have a large estate car).

Beautifully furnished property, a true home from home, all we needed for a good week away. Loved the decor and the little extras like Sky, Google Nest, pool table, darts just added to our enjoyment. We found the parking fine with a bit of manoeuvring and great to have the parking area. All in all, a lovely stay and didn't want to leave!

Roomy cottage in a very central location. Neighbours all very friendly and no issues with parking. Electric car charger was fab and saved us hours of hanging around at supermarket car parks. We walked to Brecon canal and hired a boat...it's nice to be able to leave the car behind.
