Situated in Hay-on-Wye town centre, this cottage is a perfect base for discovering the Brecon Beacons National Park and River Wye. Originally an apple store that has been refurbished from the original cider house.

Perfect for families and friends seeking a relaxing getaway, this delightful property is set in a charming spot close to the heart of Hay-on-Wye. Offering warm and cosy accommodation for eight guests, the property was originally an apple store that has been imaginatively renovated to make a light, welcoming and relaxing holiday home. Featuring a walled garden, a light-filled conservatory and its own open-air cinema with a wide selection of films, this wonderful detached property provides a wonderful bolthole for keen walkers and cyclists exploring the Wye Valley and the Brecon Beacons. The owner also offers a range of freshly prepared Japanese set meals by arrangement.

The cottage features a spacious and relaxing lounge with a wood burner, a TV and plenty of seating, which leads into a peaceful conservatory overlooking the garden. Steps lead up from the lounge into a delightful family dining area. The ground floor also has a fully equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar. There are three tastefully decorated bedrooms upstairs: one king-size, one double and a twin, each with an en-suite shower room. From the conservatory, steps lead down into the pretty walled garden, a delightful space perfect for children to play and featuring a large, raised decked area ideal for dining alfresco. An outdoor pizza oven is available for use with the option of fresh pizza dough from the owners kitchen by arrangement. There’s also an open-air cinema with a 3m x 2m screen, wireless headphones and a range of great films to enjoy on a summer’s evening.

Known for its literature festival, the newly renovated Hay Castle, numerous bookshops, antiques dealers and art galleries, Hay-on-Wye is perched along the north-eastern corner of the magnificent Brecon Beacons National Park, with the beautiful River Wye meandering along. Activities include kayaking, hiking, canoeing and mountain biking. Local landmarks and attractions include Arthur’s Stone (6.5 miles), Small Breeds Farm Park and Owl Centre, Llangorse Lake, Hergest Croft Gardens (all within 12 miles) and Talgarth Mill (8 miles).
