There is also a double bedroom where guests can enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep and an en-suite shower. There is a separate WC. To relax in the sitting room, climb the curved wooden staircase to the top of the silo which is a circular room and takes up the whole of the first floor. Definitely quirky but not romantic or luxurious! Facilities quite basic (shower in cupboard!) and no proper cooker so meant eating out or very simple meals. Lovely setting and outside space. Nice responsive owners when had issues. Location great for Hay-on-Wye which had cafes and pubs (recommend Cosy cafe for breakfast & lunch, Tomatitos for tapas Read more& Shepherds for ice cream) plus the all important bookshops! Castle grounds with deckchairs to chill and eat toasted sandwiches from cafe. Hide
