Escape with your other half to this lovely barn conversion on a complex of properties in the heart of Ceredigion. Sleeping two people, this former stable and cowshed is the ideal rural retreat for a romantic couple. Spend your days exploring the Cardigan Bay coastline or the Cors Caron Nature Reserve, and your evenings sharing BBQ dinners on the lovely south-east-facing patio.
Step inside this delightful stone cottage and you’ll find a pleasant open-plan space with exposed beams, reclaimed wooden floors and charming oak features. Take a moment to make yourself at home and then make a beeline to the kitchen area to rustle up a romantic meal for two. Alternatively, head out to the patio, fire up the coal BBQ and enjoy an al fresco dinner. Pour yourselves a glass of something cool and crisp and watch the stars come out, or head back into the open-plan lounge/diner/bedroom (which is one step down from the kitchen), to snuggle on the sofa in front of the TV. When it’s time to get some rest, you’ll find a cosy king-size bed to drift off in.
Pack up a picnic and head to Cors Caron Nature Reserve (6.5 miles) to go for a stroll along the riverside. Keep your eyes peeled for red kite, hen harrier, skylark, dragonflies, lizards and otters. Or go to Aberystwyth (14 miles) to explore the castle and watch the sunset from Constitutional Hill. Alternatively, head to New Quay (20 miles) and venture out into Cardigan Bay on a dolphin-spotting boat trip. Beautiful Tresaith Beach (28 miles) even has its own waterfall, so it’s the perfect spot for a romantic stroll.
