This spacious barn for two is set deep in the Herefordshire hillside of Garway within a bustling working farm. Garway Hill is one of the most beautiful places in Herefordshire, you can climb the remainder of the hill, where, on a clear day, you can enjoy views across five counties. You can also enjoy the local wildlife which includes mountain horses, sheep, and great crested newts and you’ll be within easy reach of National cycling routes, Offa’s Dyke, the Wye Valley Way, and the Forest of Dean. The vibrant town of Monmouth (9 miles) is close by with elegant Georgian mansions and Victorian courtyards, offering shops, pubs, and restaurants. The area has many castles including those at Monmouth (9 miles), Goodrich (13.5 miles) & Raglan (16.5 miles), and numerous beautiful churches including the remains of the stunning Tintern Abbey (20 miles).

Set within the grounds of a traditional working farm where you can enjoy walks across the countryside, you’ll find there are panoramic views across to the Welsh mountains as you travel the long driveway into the farm. The barn sits behind a traditional walled courtyard that you can access via the wooden gate. You enter via the kitchen which enjoys plenty of natural light from the bi-fold doors, a contemporary space finished with wooden block worktops, and offers equipment for every chef's needs. From here, step into the hallway where you have access to a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer and the spacious shower room with a double walk-in shower and WC. The hallway offers access into the living space, a beautiful room with vaulted ceilings, an eclectic arrangement of art, and finished with a wood burner and a Smart TV. For dining, a table and chairs suitable for four guests are completed with a vintage record player. The wooden stairs give way to a mezzanine landing where you can entertain in style by mixing drinks in the boat-themed bar, and there’s a sofa you can sink into next to a well-stocked library of books. A double bedroom is situated to the rear of the floor along with a separate WC.

Outside is an enclosed walled courtyard complete with a table and chairs for summer dining. There is a charcoal BBQ and storage for bikes.

A very beautiful part of the world but quite remote. The barn itself is very quirky but could do with some TLC and decluttering to bring it up to scratch. It is very well equipped though and the owners were very welcoming and kindly left some grocerys. Dog friendly garden was a bonus.

We stayed in this property for a week at the end of August, and loved it! It was clean, very spacious, and incredibly well equipped. We loved the setup and lovely outside space. Kind hosts with goodies supplied. All areas well stocked and as per photos. Barn was very clean and had proper size fridge freezer, microwave and induction hob range. Plenty of toiletries and towels. The log burner is Swedish and needs logs first, then sticks on top and finally firelighter on top of that (smoke alarm works well if you don't!). My wife and I found Farm Barn to be excellent in all aspects. Comfort and facilities were outstanding. The barn was exactly what we were looking for. Somewhere we could get away from it all and relax with our pet dog Mollie. She loved exploring in the garden and on our walks. We highly recommend the barn for anyone looking for an idyllic escape.

We had a fantastic week at Tanglewood Farm. The accommodation was superb, and we wanted for nothing. The owners were so friendly and helpful in every way possible. I miss hearing the donkeys in the morning. We found it peaceful and relaxing and wish we were still there; it was that enjoyable, thank you.

I found Farm Barn to be a great place to stay - very comfortable and it suited me well. Big, well equipped kitchen, comfortable sofas and underfloor heating for the cooler mornings. It's set in a lovely part of the country, on the Welsh border and is somewhere I would look to again if was travelling to this part of the UK.

Great quirky place to enjoy just being, but well placed to visit Wye Valley and Black Mountains. Good walks from the door inc Garway Hill (magical views). Owners extremely friendly and very helpful. Be aware this is on a working farm but it was great to see the sheep, pigs and donkeys etc.
