Set back from the hustle and bustle of historic Tintern, this attractive apartment is a wonderful vantage point for exploring the Wye Valley as a couple, friendship group, or small family. The 12th-century abbey looms over the village and provides endless fascination for budding historians, yet delving further into the pretty streets will reveal a whole host of tearooms, cafes and independent shops. Return with your spoils and prepare a feast, best enjoyed in your private garden with a generous glass of something special.

Single-level and delightfully spacious, your abode is styled in a contemporary fashion with bright splashes of colour and comfortable furniture. The open-plan living space is equipped with all the creature comforts you need for cosy evenings snuggled up on the corner sofa watching TV and jovial card games at the dining table. There’s a state-of-the-art kitchen area for preparing your favourite meals, or why not sizzle up something special outside on the BBQ. Invigorate yourself with a rainforest-style shower in the shower room before bed, then take your pick of two pleasant bedrooms. There is a double bedroom and a handy twin, which features zip-and-link beds that can be converted into a king-size on request.

Straddling the banks of the River Wye, Tintern is brimming with history and acts as a gateway to the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean. Discover ancient woodland studded with attractions such as Go Ape, exciting cycle paths and scenic picnic spots. If you prefer your adventures on foot, the Offa’s Dyke trail is a must, or why not venture further into the Welsh Mountains. Monmouth is 10 miles away and is home to a popular annual music festival and the Georgian Shire Hall and museum.

Perfect location, lovely and friendly and very welcoming to dogs, even a big dog like ours who became very popular throughout the village! Owners of the cottage are so nice too, and nothing is of any trouble. We will be back!

Great location, very picturesque. The village of Tintern has a good choice of shops etc. The property is small and basic. The owners have invested in the interior but the conservatory and garden could do with a revamp.

An enjoyable stay in Tintern. The accommodation is generally well equipped and nicely laid out. Due to the inclement weather during our stay we spent a lot of time sitting in the lounge area in the evenings and found that that the furniture was not conducive to sitting on for long periods - but in fairness, that may just be us!
