Make yourselves at home at this charming timber lodge near Gwyddgrug in West Wales. Surrounded by verdant, gently rolling countryside, the single-storey retreat sleeps four guests and also accommodates four-legged friends. With two bedrooms, the beautifully designed bolthole sits in its own private gardens, 7 miles from Llandysul and 14.5 miles from Newcastle Emlyn and could be ideal for a small family or two couples together.

Take a step up to enter the log cabin via its French doors and find yourselves in an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with a high, timber-clad ceiling and warm, inviting ambience. Settle in here on the soft seating, perhaps in front of the Smart TV, or decide whose turn it is to prepare the next meal over in the well-equipped kitchen space. Dine inside or out, depending on the weather, and when it’s time to head off to bed for the night, find you have two very comfortable bedrooms. These include a king-size with a TV, and a twin. There is also a family shower room. Cook outside on the BBQ on sunny days and watch the children play on the grass. There is space here for storing cycles and sitting outside in the fresh air undercover. There is also parking for two cars.

Enjoy finding walks through scenic countryside right from the doorstep. Stroll through the streets of historic Newcastle Emlyn, with its independent streets and cafes and pubs serving dishes made with local produce. See the ruins of the castle and walk beside the River Teifi. Head 22 miles to the market town of Llandeilo and the edge of the Brecon Beacons. From here, venture into the national park, with its footpaths and trails to follow. While you are also here head 4.5 miles out of Llandeilo to see dramatic Castell Carreg Cennen.
