Take a step back in time and stay in a quintessential cottage at the heart of Llansaint, a picturesque village studded between Kidwelly and Ferryside. Sleeping two, you’ll be in prime position for exploring Carmarthen Bay, whether you envisage windswept walks and rock pool foraging or would prefer to take to the meandering trailways by bike. Alongside its quiet country pubs and pretty tearooms, you’ll also find plenty of local goodies to enjoy.

Nestled amongst a row of similar cottages, your abode has stone walls, timber beams and wooden floors as well as a crackling wood burner to warm your toes. Snuggle up with a glass of wine to watch TV and delve into snacks, and at mealtimes the handcrafted kitchen has state-of-the-art equipment for all your cooking needs. Choose to dine at the drop-leaf table in the lounge, or head through to the conservatory. This room leads to a shared hallway that gives access to the garden with its patio, furniture and BBQ. Shared only with the neighbouring cottage, it is a lovely space for drinks at sundown. Completing the property is the king-size bedroom upstairs and an en-suite bathroom.

Venture to Kidwelly (2 miles) and discover the ancient castle, which eagle-eyed viewers may recognise from Monty Python’s quest for the Holy Grail, then descend on the streets to take your pick from a wide range of tearooms and eateries. Similarly, Ferryside 2 miles away has its own curiosities such as a ‘lost’ island that is exposed at low tide. Take the ferry across the water to visit the castle on the hill at Llansteffan, gazing out across Gwendraeth Estuary, Pembrey Forest, Cefn Sidan beach and across the Gower and Worm’s Head.

If you want comfort, peace and tranquility this is the place for you. I can not recommend this cottage enough, the interior is beautiful, in keeping with the cozy feel Of a cottage. It has everything you could possibly want and incredibly lovely owners. The love they have poured into this home is evident. From the Moment we walked in we felt at homRead moree and at peace. Our dog enjoyed the fire and being able to see us at all times we were sad to leave but would go back at the drop of a hat. Hide
