Immerse yourself in life on this 45-acre farm with far-reaching fields dotted with sheep and horses, brightly coloured peacocks wandering the grounds and a tranquil retreat for you to call home in the converted barn. Venture to Llandudno (5 miles) to spend a day by the sea building sandcastles and listening to the soothing sounds of the crashing waves hand in hand with your loved one.

As you walk into the property the high beamed ceilings and open-plan living area invite you in to explore the character throughout, seamlessly blending original features with modern updates. Cuddle up on one of the two leather sofas for a romantic film night or pick a book off the shelf and lose yourself in a story in the living area for an evening of relaxation. When it’s time for tea, the L-shaped kitchen is a light, bright area with all you’ll need to fix a romantic feast for two which can be served up on the dining table right by a wide-open window. Completing the ground floor is the shower room where you can refresh at the start and end of the day, as well as an additional WC. Take the steps up the intricate spiral staircase and find a comfortable double bed where you can rest your head and prepare for the adventures that await the following morning.

This cosy cottage is perfectly situated to make the most of the coast and countryside, and you can discover wild and whimsical walking and cycling trails through the World Heritage Site of the Conwy Valley right on your doorstep. Surround yourself in history at the 13th-century castle of Conwy (4 miles) which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site or visit the majestic landscapes of Bodnant Gardens (4 miles) where you can wander hand in hand marvelling at the sights and scents of an array of interesting plants. To the north, Llandudno is a must-visit for couples; dip your toes in the sea as the sunsets on the beach, breathe in the fresh air on the Great Orme walk and soak up the local culture with an evening out at the theatre.

The cottage is easy to locate and is situated a short drive from Conway. It is one of two cottages set around a courtyard below the owners own property. Clean, comfortable and well equipped. The spiral staircase linking the bedroom and living levels, may be an issue for those with mobility problems. Closest pub is along a unlit lane, so really can Read moreonly be driven to on darker nights. Host was friendly and once he knew you were settled in and happy left you to your holiday. Hide

We had a lovely break and thank Peter for going above and beyond in helping us when our car was immobilised due to an accident. Glyn Bach Barn is wonderful, and the Peacocks were a lovely distraction!

Glyn Bach is a lovely house to stay in. It was perfect for the two of us. Our host Peter was so helpful and welcoming. The location is very special, on a farm surrounded by stunning country side with great walks. But also not too far from Conwy and Llandudno. We will definitely be back.

We could fault nothing we would add a corkscrew to the inventory but otherwise a wonderful destination with Peacocks to entertain even if its raining. Well done to our hosts and well done to Snowdonia.
