Enjoy a break away to the Brecon Beacons in this charming upside-down holiday home which is perfect for families and lies just a mile away from Crickhowell. Delve deep into the National Park and get ready for an adrenaline-inducing adventure, testing your stamina on one of the many mountain climbs in the local area, from Table Mountain to the three peaks of the Black Mountains which reward your efforts with awe-inspiring views at the summit.

The ground floor of this property is where the bedrooms lie, with a stylish king-size bedroom and a playful twin room making it a perfect fit for those travelling with children. Both bedrooms share the use of the family bathroom where you’ll find peace in the evenings sitting in the tub with a glass of bubbles in hand. Walk up the staircase to socialise in the open-plan living area which makes the best of the picturesque views over the River Usk and beyond in its elevated position. This space is full of character with exposed beams and the original toll-house windows, providing a nod to the property’s fascinating history and seamlessly blending the old with the new. Situated next to a bright window, the kitchen is a lovely space to prepare a meal to serve up on the dining table for four. Once dinner is finished, sink into the leather corner sofa to watch a film or read a book beside the crackling wood burner and spend quality time with one another as the sun sets.

Head into the picturesque village of Crickhowell (1 mile) to live like a local, stopping off at a fantastic selection of independent shops, boutiques and eateries serving up fresh local produce to fuel you for the day. You could pack a picnic and take the meandering canal path from Crickhowell to Abergavenny (9 miles) where you’ll find a whole host of activities, from the chance to tackle the mighty peak of the Sugar Loaf Mountain to a fascinating visit to the historic castle which encompasses Abergavenny Museum. Glide along the water at the tranquil location of Llandegfedd Reservoir (18 miles) where the watersports centre offers a whole host of family-friendly activities in a setting of true natural beauty.

Best Holiday cottage so far. Excellent location. Easy walk to town centre. Lots of great dog walks just outside cottage. Bed and sofa really comfortable. Really big TV. Kitchen was well equiped. You could cook a full meal. Cottage was tastfully furnished to a high standard. Great veiws from windows. We intend to stay here again.

Beautiful cottage, well equipped and the host was a dream to work with, so easy and clear. Beautiful to watch the river, lovely fire and relax. The bed is super comfy and even though its a toll house its a very quiet room and low traffic noise. So much to do in the area from climbs, runs, rides and hikes to mooching around the lovely town of CrickhRead moreowell. Hide

A beautiful cottage in a fabulous location. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable with a wonderful comfy bed. Even though it was right on the road, I did not hear the traffic at all. There are plenty of walks close by and lovely independent shops just up the hill, along with lovely pubs. I loved staying there so much that I did not want to lRead moreeave and I am pining for it the day after getting home. The owner is very friendly and helpful and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Hide

Lovely cosy and comfortable cottage. Stayed with our 2 dogs which was perfect with several walks near by and short walks to a good selection of pubs and shops.

Beautiful location, great views. a well presented feel roomy and ycosy. Great walks available from the door, gentle or more taxing. Friendly village, great local stores locally owned. A great choice of restaurants in the village from casual to more formal, or a choice of takeaways available.
