An exquisite cottage in the centre of this historic market town 12 miles from the Welsh capital. A perfect bolthole for a romantic weekend away, this couple-friendly cottage features a stylish lounge/diner, a large garden and easy access to a range of attractions and communities dotted across the coast.

The two-storey cottage sits on a quiet street surrounded by an assortment of colourful and characterful properties that wind their way towards Cowbridge’s bustling high street. It enjoys a homely ambience thanks to cosy living areas featuring comfortable soft furnishings draped in sunlight. The lounge/kitchen diner is a lovely place to curl up in front of an evening film after a romantic dinner prepared in the neighbouring kitchen. The welcoming arms of the double bedroom upstairs will be hard to leave come the morning, while the sleek shower room across the hall is the ideal place to recharge. The attractive enclosed garden at the rear of the cottage awaits morning coffee drinkers, hours of sunbathing and alfresco meals during warmer months.

The centre of Cowbridge (300 metres) is known for its independent shops, pubs and restaurants, while numerous footpaths and trails crisscross the surrounding countryside. Beachcombers are spoilt for choice, with Ogmore-by-Sea and Llantwit Major beaches both within 9.5 miles. Some of South Wales’ best cultural, historical and natural attractions can be found in the aesthetically-pleasing city of Cardiff, 12 miles from the cottage. The journey there alone is worth the distance travelled.

This cottage, from the outside looks very compact, is found to be spacious and extremely well looked after. It is very well equipped and for us as the first of the cold weather descended was very warm and cosy. Ideally placed in historic Cowbridge, but convenient for many other Vale of Glamorgan venues.

Small cottage only for 2 guests. Ideally located in a lovely small town. Easy access to Cardiff by bus. Property is as described. Well equiped and comfortable. Housekeeper stays in touch and checks that all is OK. It was! Would return again if we are going to Cardiff.
