Enjoying easy access to the coast, this family-friendly cottage features an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, versatile bedrooms and a large garden enjoying stunning views of the Rhinog Mountains.
This attractive two-storey cottage stands on a narrow road in central Arthog that runs directly towards some of the area’s most popular coastal villages. It retains many of its original features including its stone feature fireplace and exposed roof beams, and these are enhanced by the contemporary soft furnishings found in each of its good-sized rooms. A stylish lounge/kitchen/diner with quarry tiled flooring dominates the ground floor, a wonderful place to snuggle in the mornings, enjoy fresh local produce at meal times or unwind in front of the wood burner after a long day spent exploring the area. The spacious double bedroom and twin bedroom upstairs guarantee a restful night’s sleep and enjoy mountain views through their large windows. The family shower room is perfectly positioned to soothe weary limbs. Across the road from the cottage, the large enclosed gravel garden is the perfect spot for BBQ suppers or toasting marshmallows around the firepit with the Rhinog Mountains as an inviting backdrop.
Arthog, which sits at the southerly tip of Snowdonia National Park, is a convenient base for exploring its awe-inspiring peaks and coastal communities. The Mawddach Trail leads virtually from the cottage to Arthog Waterfalls (500 metres) and can take ardent walkers and cyclists all the way to Barmouth (2.5 miles), a vibrant seaside town on the other side of the Mawddach Estuary. Dolgellau (7 miles) is rich in cultural and historical attractions, while Coed y Brenin Forest Park (13 miles) is a natural wonder not to be missed.
