Smashing little place for a quiet short stay. Well equipped kitchen. Hot shower and comfortable double bed. We happened to stay on the weekend of Storm Bert so were confined to quarters. Had the weather been more clement however, Ty'r Bad would have been a great base for walks up onto the Blorenge and strolls along the Becon/Mon canal. Love the boat house. Would definitely recommend. Huge garden, secure when five-bar gate closed. Our dog loved it. Clean and comfortable. Big comfy bed. Peaceful with beautiful surroundings and lots of walks. Recommend visit to Goytre Wharf and The Retreat.

Loved this cottage! The setting is idyllic and so peaceful. It was well equipped and comfortable. It is a small cottage and it is nice that it was not stuffed with odd furniture, so that it felt spacious and airy. The walks along the canal were lovely and we visited The Retreat cafe several times for excellent food. It is quite a walk up the pub buRead moret well worth it for the views and the food. We only went out once in the car, we just enjoyed relaxing at the boathouse and walking local footpaths. Hide

A lovely cottage in a fantastic location. Very comfortable bed and very clean. Lots of lovely walks both from the cottage and a short drive away. The local pub, a mile or so up the hill is worth the walk, very friendly and welcoming.

Beautifully decorated and furnished. Situated in a prime location with many places of interest in the area. The dining area radiator was not working and in colder weather would have been a problem.

The cottage was in a lovely location right beside the canal and with a lovely garden and far reaching view. Overall the furnishings and furniture were good. Some of the kitchen equipment left a bit to be desired in terms of its age and quality.

A lovely, well presented cottage. Perfect location for walking and visiting Abergavenny, Usk area. Not easy to park at the property if you have a large car but is doable . Shopping at large Waitrose 10 minutes away. Cottage is as described by holiday cottages and we would be happy to book it again.
