You're in the middle of the Brecon Beacons after all, dramatic dark skies, spectacular walks to discover, delicious local food and festivals for when you venture beyond the private parkland.
Miles of gentle strolls and family-friendly cycle rides along the Brecon & Monmouth Canal, or for more of a challenge try the twin peaks of PenyFan and Corn Ddu in easy reach. The River Usk is the finest river in Wales for brown trout. Splash around on the River Wye, with canoe hire readily available in Glasbury. An exceptional country house, well located between our favourite four Welsh towns of Hay-on-Wye, Brecon, Crickhowell and Abergavenny.
The house is furnished to a high standard and offers SEVEN bedrooms: many with countryside views. Attic offers 2 king-size bedrooms, 1 double and 1 twin bedroom. Family bathroom with bath, shower, basin and WC. First floor offers 1 king-size bedroom with Jack and Jill bathroom, 1 twin room with bathroom, 1 further twin. 1 Wet Room, 1 family bathroom with bath, basin and WC. Drawing Room: open fire (logs included). Snug: open fire (logs included). Conservatory with TV, DVD. Games Room: pool table, table tennis, flat screen tv, dvd, additional toys. Kitchen: large and well-equipped with four oven Aga cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, farmhouse dining table, two dishwashers great for larger parties, and many useful extras. Dining Room: Dining table for 12. Utility room: leading from the kitchen with washing-machine, tumble dryer. Outside: large garden with seating and BBQ. Amenities: tennis court, ample parking. EXPLORE FROM THE DOOR: In the heart of the Brecon Beacons, there is something for every level of fitness including a dramatic hike up South Wales highest twin peaks, Pen y Fan & Corn Ddu. Gentler options include the nearby Brecon & Monmouth Canal with restored tow path for walking and cycling. Cantreff is the local pony trekking centre with childrens activity centre available too, and is less than a mile from the house.
TOWNS & VILLAGES: Fabulously located between our favourite four Welsh towns: Hay on Wye, of literary fame, Brecon, handy for shopping and exploring the cathedral, Crickhowell for quaint mountain stores and Abergavenny with Michelin chefs and restaurants. There are a number of great local festivals throughout the area, including the Abergavenny Food Festival in September, the Hay Festival in May and the Brecon Jazz festival.
WINE & DINE: The White Swan Inn is the local pub, with a good local reputation and open daily. Venture closer to Hay on Wye for the Felin Fach Griffin which frequently tops pub guide books as the best in Wales. The River Cafe in Glasbury is perfect for lunch, with canoe, mountain bike and Vespa hire all available on the doorstep!
COUNTRY PURSUITS: Twitchers should be very happy here with lots of beautiful birds around. The owners are very happy for guests to walk around the estate, but politely ask that you remain on the footpaths. This is a working estate so please observe the countryside code.

SLEEPS 14: 7 bedrooms, two king-size attic bedrooms, one double and a twin attic bedroom. First floor king-size bedroom and two first floor twin rooms. Beautiful bedding included in each room.
RELAXING: Three great places to relax which include a large, elegant drawing room with open fire, sofas and armchairs, a snug, with open fire and TV, plus a conservatory room with TV, DVD, Wi-Fi. In addition, there is a very large games room - perfect for children and teenagers. Please only stream films in the house and not in the games room.
COOKING & DINING: Large country kitchen with four oven Aga, large fridge, two dishwashers great for larger parties, farmhouse dining table for 12, and a pantry - perfect for caterers. There is a formal dining room with dining table to seat twelve.
BATHING: 4 bathrooms in total, plus a downstairs cloakroom. A family bathroom with shower and bath in the attic, three bathrooms on the first floor, including a Jack and Jill bathroom, a family bathroom and a wet room.
PLAYTIME: Tennis court (please bring your own rackets, shoes and balls), large games room with table tennis, pool table, television, toys and games.
OUTSIDE SPACE: Beautiful grounds with lawns, orchard and terrace, complete with garden furniture and barbecue. Plenty of parking available. The owners are happy for guests to walk around the estate, but please keep to the footpaths at all times and observe the country code. This is a working country estate.
PETS: Sorry, no dogs allowed at this beautiful house, without exception.
