Offering so much more than just a stylish retreat, this delightful cottage brings the chic-est of Scandi style with a mix of classic and contemporary design. Original art pieces adorn the walls and traditional features such as stone floors and oak beams mingle within the modern colour schemes.

For total well-being there is also a sauna, spa, spa therapies and yoga at the amazing spa centre. Perched high in the Black Mountains, this is holistic relaxation at its best. The sense of calm is only enhanced by the atmosphere, with spectacular views and a deep, peaceful quietness, bar the sounds of nature. Even the weariest of travellers can kick back for a weekend or snooze away a week.

Envelop yourself in fluffy towels, pad around in boutique hotel style slippers and drink in the views as well as the fresh, clear and reviving on site spring water. Enjoy the private gardens with use of the recliners and a Weber barbecue.

This gentle spot is nestled on a quiet organic holding that has been inhabited since the Bronze Age.  Steeped in romance and intrigue, with the friendliest of hosts welcoming you to explore the 69 acres, you can uncover ancient springs, medieval paths and tracks directly up into the Black Mountains directly from your door.

Once inside, it's a blissful fusion of considered contemporary style, high comfort and thoughtful, personal boutique-style touches.  High ceilings and huge barn doors flood the living space with light, oak beams and large wood burning stove fill the rooms with warmth and the mezzanine and kitchen comes fully-equipped and includes Nespresso machine.

Once you've spent a morning on the mountain, an afternoon in the Spa or a day out exploring the local market towns, squeezed in a little star gazing, then resting your head has never felt so good. Two beautifully furnished bedrooms, an en-suite, king size master bedroom, plus a twin bedroom with its own bathroom, complete with fluffy towels and toiletries...of course! A mid-week tidy-up is complimentary and you can take afternoon tea in the 'datcha' or a delivery to your door.

Step outside for a choice of private terraces. To one side, a Weber barbecue, large dining table, chairs and a parasol. The other, laid to lawn, is perfect for children, not forgetting the acres of private farmland you're invited to explore. Pets can run freely though the woodland as well as being free of charge! Shared enclosed garden/lawn space, next to the cottage.

This property is all about boutique hotel style, great service and hands-on local advice and inspiration should you need it.  Coupled with one of the most breath-taking spots in the Welsh Marches, it is an inspirational location from which to enjoy both the Brecon Beacons National Park, Welsh Borders and Herefordshire.

This property can also be booked along side Starlight Cottage (42897)

ADRIAAN'S DATCHA:  Reflecting the idea of a Russian datcha, this newly opened outdoor room with library, soft seating and a wood burning stove, oozes charm and atmosphere.  With wonderful views and set away from the property, feel the magic as you enter this small building. Read a book or write a letter, while sipping tea by the warmth of the fire. You can now book an afternoon tea for a small fee, to be served in the datcha.

Hay on Wye, with its famous Literary Festival is 20 minutes drive away, with 30+ independent bookshops and pretty antique and shops and stylish stores. There are good places to eat as well. Abergavenny is 30 minutes away with one of the countries largest food festivals in September each year. The Cathedral City of Hereford, with the Mappa Mundi can also be reached in 30 minutes.

CULTURE & CASTLES: The Norman Conquest saw a large number of castles springing up in the Welsh Marches, many of which still remain in some form or other today. White Castle, Longtown, Grosmont and Raglan Castle are certainly worth a visit for a touch of local history. There are lots of beautiful old churches and abbey's around too. Patrishow Church in the Vale of Grywnne is a particularly lovely example, as well as the crooked church at Cwmyoy in the beautiful Llanthony Valley. Guide books and information available on arrival.
