The cottage is set at the foot of the Sugar Loaf Mountain, and part of the Brecon Beacons National Park and the Black Mountains are all around you, so great walks are available from your door. Situated next door to the owner’s home where fresh eggs and treats are available from the owner’s kitchen, this is the ideal spot for some rest and relaxtion. Take a trip to the market in Abergavenny, Crickhowell which is 6 miles away is great for small local stores. Visit one of the many historic houses, gardens and castles such as White Castle, Longtown, Grosmont and Raglan Castle. Hay-on-Wye with its famous Literary Festival is approximately a 40 minute drive away.
Enter the property into a surprisingly spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining area, with lovely high ceilings.The kitchen is well-equipped with all the essentials for your holiday, including an electric oven and hob, fridge with ice compartment and a Nespresso coffee machine. The lounge includes a sofa (which can be converted into a sofa bed at an additional cost), TV and DVD. The perfect spot to curl up and enjoy a film in the evening. The neutral and stylish décor gives this property a light and airy feel throughout, with soft furnishings dotted around for comfort.. The cosy king-size bedroom is tucked away at the end of the corridor, with sumptuous bedding and DAB radio to wake up to in the mornings. Next to the bedroom there is a contemporary shower room with monsoon shower head to revive you for the day ahead.
Outside you will find patio furniture for sitting back and watching the world go by, together with steps up to the private garden area. From here you can enjoy wonderful rural views, toast marshmallows over the fire pit or even light the BBQ for dinner on a sunny evening. Behind the property there is a utility/boot room offering a washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also a handy outside tap for washing those muddy paws after long walks! There is off-road parking for 1 car to the front of the property.

WALK THE HILLS: Part of the Brecon Beacons National Park, the Black Mountains are all around you, simply stride out in any direction for a great days walking. The cottage is located at the foot of the Sugar Loaf Mountain, so great walks from the door. Maps, guide books and routes are all available in the cottage.
CYCLE THE LANES: Numerous road and off-road routes for all levels, just a short cycle ride to the local pub in Pantygelli for Sunday lunch. There are Mountain biking trails and centres nearby, as well as great road routes, with 2014 having seen the National Road Championships cross the county.
CULTURE VULTURE: A tiny chapel with services each month is within walking distance, or cycle to the beautiful Patrishow Church further into the hills. There are a number of Norman Castles throughout the Welsh Marches and nearby Welsh Border areas.
RETAIL THERAPY: Abergavenny, apx 4 miles, with a weekly Tuesday market and great food festival each September. Crickhowell, 6 miles, is great for small local stores, butchers and a lazy browse. Hay on Wye, with its International Book Festival each year is a great day trip, as is Hereford, both appx 40 minutes drive.
FEASTING: There is a good country pub a short cycle ride away, two Michelin starred restaurants, The Crown and The Walnut Tree Inn, which will delight foodies, as will the Foxhunter and Hardwick restaurant, all around Abergavenny and Monmouth and within easy reach.
SLEEPS 2: King-size bedroom, fresh bedlinen included, Welsh blankets and storage space. The sofa in the sitting room is a sofa bed with a pocket sprung mattress, so the cottage can work well for two people who prefer not to share a bed (a small bedding supplement of £15 will apply for use of the sofa bed).
B&B: 1-2 night stays include a complimentary continental breakfast basket for two.

GARDEN : There are external steps up to the garden which has great views, but not suitable for toddlers as it is not fully enclosed.
GOOD TO KNOW: Tesco, Waitrose and Asda will deliver groceries to this property.
BEDDING : The duvet is feather, however a synthetic one can be provided, please just let us know on the comments box when you book.
OUTSIDE: Outdoor seating, bike storage, parking, fire pit and a BBQ.
