These properties are just a short drive from the mountain town of Crickhowell. There is a plunge pool in the river which flows down below the accommodation, as its all private land you can swim and fish in the river during your stay. The lovely little town of Crickhowell, with a butchers, a bakers, Post Office and shops is a short drive. Try the famous book town of Hay on Wye, just 30 minutes with a treasure trove of independent stores and book shops. It has the added benefit of being on the River Wye, which is great for paddling in the Warren on a summer’s day, or renting a canoe for some watery adventure. Nearby attractions include trekking centres within 10-20 minutes’ drive and some of the riding trails in The Golden Valley riding centre is just a few miles away for fabulous trekking in the hills, or try Triley Fields Equestrian for lessons and a great cross country course.

The unique yurt offers an open-plan Living/kitchen/diner/sleeping area: with a woodburner which when stoked up is hot enough to provide an additional cooking source. Sleeping area with double bed, raised double bed, hammock and sofa bed. Kitchen area with gas hob, a fridge cage in the river, keeping food cool in water proof containers and fire pit for outside cooking. Dining area with table and chairs. The shepherd hut offers: a cosy woodburner, bath and WC. Outside: set in acres of land, a table and benches provided. Amenities: parking for 1 car (more space available at the owner’s property) Bed linen and towels included. Regret no smoking. 2 dogs welcome (please keep dogs under control as there is live stock). Additional info: there is no mobile signal at the properties however you can get signal just up the lane. Mountain bike hire can be arranged for delivery to the door, or bring your own and storage can be made available. Location: pub 1 mile. Arrival: 4pm

WILD SWIMMING: There is a great plunge pool in the river which flows down below the yurt. As it's all private land you can swim and fish in the river during your stay, as well as chop wood and generally get back to nature. There is a huge wood store available for you, should you not want to expend quite so much energy!

WALKING & CYCLING: Set in the Brecon Beacons National Park, you are surrounded by the beautiful Black Mountains, with endless trails directly from the door. Mountain bike hire can be arranged for delivery to the door, or bring your own and storage can be made available.

EATING: The local village of Llanbedr has a local pub, which can be reached on foot, with a pretty country lane and riverside trail. Crickhowell is the nearest town with several country pubs, pet friendly, The Bear being the oldest and most popular. For posher nosh, then the Nanty-ffin Inn is worth a trip, as is the Hardwick in Abergavenny. Heaps of inspiration on our Things to Do Pages...all tried and tested by the team - tough job!

SLEEPS 2 - 6: A fabulous romantic yurt with a hand-made oak double bed, cosy Welsh blankets, proper bed linen and two additional beds with fresh linen, sleeping another four people.

EATING: Large living space, with "kitchen" worktop with gas hob and all the pots and pans you need. Huge wood burning stove which when stoked up is hot enough to provide an additional cooking source. Huge fire pit outside for camp fire cooking. There is a fridge cage in the river, keeping food cool in water proof containers. There is a proper hand-made dining table inside the yurt and a table and benches outside the yurt too.

KEEPING CLEAN: There is a shepherds hut next door with a claw foot bath, basin and loo. Piping hot running water on tap too, as well as fresh towels provided. There is also a plunge pool in the river for the more adventurous!

GET AWAY FROM IT ALL: Black Mountains Yurt is an "off grid" holiday, however you can get mobile reception just a minute up the lane from the yurt and you are a 5-10 minute stroll from the local pub should you fancy someone else doing the cooking!

PETS: Well behaved dogs are very welcome, there is livestock on the farm, so please take care.

Awesome property! Enjoy some peace and quiet, all facilties were great, really well stocked with pretty much everything would just recomend bringing some extra torches or nightlight, yurt and shephard hut are beautifully decorated. Bath tub has amazing view! Kids spent hours chopping wood & kept the yurt toasty! Really doggie friendly ours spent thRead moree time pottering around and & enjoying some freedom, lastly made to feel welcome from beginning to end by hosts, very helpful and kind =)! Hide
