So the "big game" is a more of a gaggle of friendly pet alpacas and hand reared sheep, the setting more rolling Welsh countryside and mountain views.. the theme though is all about high luxe adventure.

Set beneath the Skirrid Mountain, with a Michelin starred restaurant in very easy reach, let the kids run free in the fields, or snap it up just for two and enjoy some of that fine dining further down the lane. Set on a small family farm in the rolling Monmouthshire countryside, this is a tent with a difference! Unzip the canvas and discover a kitchen any cottage would be proud of, proper soft seating, huge wood burning stove which doubles as an oven, a farmhouse dining table and a fab double "bed in a shed", as well as two other private bedrooms, including a twin, with iron framed beds and a romantic king-size.Sleeping a family of up to six in comfort, but fun and romantic enough for a couple too. For larger groups. there 2 more safari tents on site and each accommodate up to 6 guests. The other properties are: Skirrid Skies (42928) and Sugar Loaf Skies (43122)

Handmade drapes and pretty linens abound, there is a proper shower with hot and cold running water fired by a huge wood burning boiler. Step outside the tent onto the wooden deck, laze away a morning on the outdoor sofas, then there are acres of meadows to explore and the Skirrid Mountain just crying out to be walked!

With the Brecon Beacons National Park & Forest of Dean within easy reach, there's a wealth of great days out and adventure just waiting to be discovered.

EXPLORE THE HILLS: THe Skirrid Mountain is the easiest to climb and in clear sight from the Safari Tent. Head off further in one direction in to the Brecon Beacons National Park, or the other towards the Monnow Valley and beautiful Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Wye Valley.

SAY HI TO THE ANIMALS: A friendly welcome from the owners alpacas awaits, great for children. There are sheep too on the wider farm.

CASTLES & CULTURE: There are several Norman Castles within the area, Whitecastle, Grosmont Castle and Skenfrith are three of note and there's a lovey cycle ride between the three of them.

NIP INTO TOWN: The market town of Abergavenny is within 10 minutes drive, or Monmouth can be reached in around 20 minutes. Day trips to see the Mappa Mundi in Hereford, or the 30+ book shops in famous book town Hay on Wye are well worth it too.

BIKING: Bike storage is available, the country was home to the National Road Race just a year ago and there are fabulous road and bike trails in the Brecon Beacons. For keen Strava users, the Tumble is well worth a peddle to the top!

EATING OUT: Located in the heart of Wales new food haven, there is a Michelin star restaurant further up the road and a good country pub in either direction, five minutes drive from the tent too.

SLEEPS 2 - 6 : Three great sleeping areas, a proper king-size bedroom, a separate twin bedroom and a double bed in a shed (our favourite one of all)! Beautiful bedding and towels provided.

LARGER GROUPS: For larger groups, there 2 more safari tents on site and each accommodate up to 6 guests. The other properties are: Skirrid Skies (42928) and Sugar Loaf Skies (43122)

RELAXING: The tent has a proper sitting room area, with leather sofa and coffee table, this extends out onto the deck area, with additional outdoor sofas and chairs. Wood burning stove warms the tent.  Plus a private hot tub for 6

COOKING: Proper wooden units with butler sink, a wood burning stove which doubles as the oven, a back up electric single hob, all crockery, cutlery, pots and pans provided.

KEEPING CLEAN: A bathroom with basin and flushing loo, towels and toileteries included. A shower room with hot and cold running water, fuelled by an electric boiler.
