WALKING: A fabulous spot to explore either the Brecon Beacons, the Black Mountains or simpler (and flatter) routes along the Brecon and Monmouth Canal, many trails right from the door.
GREAT FOOD: The area has become a foodies haven in recent years with a host of great restaurants close at hand. From the simple pleasure of the local pub in walking distance, to S&L favourites, The Hardwick & Walnut Tree Inn (Michelin star).
TOWNS: Crickhowell has a small Saturday morning market, a decent butchers, independent gift shops, restaurants and pubs all within walking distance. Abergavenny with its castle, shops and restaurants, is just 10 mins by car. Or the market town of Brecon is 15 minutes in the other direction. Hay on Wye, famous for The Hay Festival, just 30 minutes, or the cathedral town of Hereford within 45 minutes.
RIDING: Golden Valley riding centre is just a couple of miles away for fabulous trekking in the hills, or try Triley Fields Equestrian for lessons and a great cross country course, details can be found in our things to do section.
CASTLES & CULTURE: The area is littered with castles, the apartment itself forming part of the old Castle grounds in Crickhowell. Venture towards the Golden Valley to explore several Norman ruins, a great day out when coupled with visiting some of the great village pubs which have sprung up nearby.
