Head to this appealing cottage in Llanfair Caereinon and explore beautiful countryside in both Wales and England. Situated approximately 9.5 miles from Welshpool, this former Victorian farmhouse, which sleeps six guests and has an abundance of gorgeous original features, overlooks rolling green hills. Venture out on walks and cycle rides then return home to stroll around the 50-acre farm or simply bubble in your private hot tub.

Open the front door on to the hall, where you can leave your outerwear. Find a WC then amble on through into the generous kitchen/diner to pull open the garden doors on summer days as you prepare meals and call everyone to the table. One end of this room makes a superb alternative sitting room, with its wood burner, TV and comfortable seating. Head to the snug for a little quiet time or to the lounge to watch the smart TV. Climb the stairs to a king-size bedroom, a twin and a double room, with an en-suite shower room, up on the first floor. The family bathroom is down a few steps. Wake up on bright days to enjoy breakfast out in the garden, which is half an acre in size. Light the BBQ in the evening and fire up the hot tub. Find plenty of parking at the property, together with canoe and cycle storage.

Catch a train along the narrow gauge, heritage Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway, which has a station in Llanfair Caereinon. Plan an afternoon out at the National Trust’s impressive Powys Castle and Gardens, 9.5 miles away. Spend time browsing in the shops in Welshpool, where there are restaurants and cafes for dining out. Stroll along beside the Montgomery Canal here. There is a gentle 1-mile route, as well as a 9-mile trail all the way to Newtown.

If you like a farm cottage, this cottage is Ideal. Nice farm yard feel with real cows in the barn. We were there for lake vrynwy half marathon, so to come back to the cottage with a hot tub was just what the doctor ordered. Perfect way to relax.

We had absolutely amazing time at the cottage. The owner was very attentive, and was always available to answer any questions we had. The location was absolutely stunning with breath-taking views, and the owner was extremely nice enough to allow us to access their lands for us to walk our dogs around the house. Both my dogs really enjoyed their staRead morey and exploring the area. Cows were also really friendly! Hot Tub was extra bonus that we also enjoyed! I would definitely come back again! Hide

What a fabulous find! A farm cottage that was homely and clean. A wonderful hot tub we sat in watching bats above us when dusk fell. Cake on our arrival. Glorious views from the top of the garden. Just fantastic! A beautiful cottage in a marvellous part of the country. Worth every penny! Highly recommend!

We had a lovely weeks stay at Cross Farm. The cottage is well equipped with everything you need and is situated on a farm. The owner Nikki is lovely and was very informative about places to go and visit. When we arrived at the cottage there was a cake and eggs awaiting us which was a nice welcoming touch and went down very well with the family. BedRead morerooms are a good size and very comfortable. The hot tub is a great addition to the cottage and we all enjoyed soaking in there in the evenings. Hide
