EATING: There are some genuinely great restaurants all within a 15 minute drive. The Nanty-ffin Cider Mill Inn in Crickhowell is great for a yummy supper, or try the Walnut Tree Inn or the Hardwick Restaurant, just outside Abergavenny for something special, more details can be found on our "things to do" pages.

WALK/CYCLING: Perfect for both, Cwm Barn is already on the Sugar Loaf Mountain, so you have a head start to get to the top! A great afternoon walk and truly fantastic views of the area from the trig point at the top. There are numerous trails throughout the Black Mountains, which are all around and helpful local books and guides in the barn. There is also a small, yet well stocked mountaineering shop in Crickhowell for extra maps and supplies. Bike hire is available in both Brecon & Abergavenny and bikes can be delivered to the barn if required.

Further afield you can be in Brecon within 30 minutes, or Hay on Wye with its fabulous book shops and independent traders within 40 minutes...well worth the drive!

KIDS: Friendly owner Vicki, will gladly leave you a selection of toys for your children, if you could please let us know ages when you book, then she'll try and ensure they're age appropriate. There is a tree house and a play house which the children are welcome to use as well.
