Return from long days out in the scenic Welsh countryside to relax at this elegantly furnished, one-bedroom apartment. Located next door to the owner’s home on a verdant smallholding of 20 acres, the property is the perfect romantic retreat for two. Pack a picnic and head out for the day straight from home; find numerous footpaths and cycle routes in the area. Visit delightful Usk, less than 3 miles away, with its 11th-century castle, beautiful gardens and historic town trail. Follow the Usk Valley Walk for a spell. Visit Raglan too, about 3 miles away, where there is another castle to enjoy. Drive approximately 8 miles to the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, for more walks, cycle rides and mountain hikes. Head about 7 miles in the other direction to find yourselves in the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.


Head home on chilly afternoons to light the wood burner in the lounge and settle down in its cosy glow to watch TV or a DVD or to enjoy a few chapters of your holiday read. On sunny days, open the French doors to let a cool breeze in or bask in the warmth of the bright conservatory. Take in the beautiful views out over the garden and fields from here. Buy local produce from the smallholding then cook yourselves delicious breakfasts to see you through the day. Prepare candlelit dinners in the kitchen area too with gas hob, electric built-in oven and microwave, fridge and mini freezer, then dine together at your table. As night falls, follow the quarry-tiled hall down to your inviting double bedroom. Lay your head in here after a shower in your en-suite shower room, which also has a WC.


Wander the grounds of the smallholding to see the sheep, horses, geese, ducks and chickens. Find ample parking at the apartment.

A lovely cottage attached to owners property but extremely private the owners were on hand for any help you may need but are not intrusive. Beautiful views all round, we spent many an hour watching all the different birds feeding from the feeders daily. The wine and jam was much appreciated as were the plums fresh from the tree. A very nice pub whiRead morech do delicious meals is just at the top of the lane about a mile away, wish it was nearer our home in Derbyshire. Thank you Sue and Dave Carole&Barry Hide
