A luxurious glamping retreat perfect for families, within verdant farmland surroundings and close to the well-known cycling hub of Talybont-on-Usk, the beautiful River Usk and the Talybont Reservoir.

Create long-lasting memories in this elevated glamping property, staying with family or friends in the heart of rural Wales. This purpose-built accommodation offers the fun and intrigue of camping with the luxury of a traditional holiday cottage, with a fitted kitchen and private bathroom on hand for all your daily necessities. Children will simply adore a stay in this holiday home, whether they’re helping feed the chickens on the farm or taking a dip in the wildlife pond. And, for the grown-ups, the allure of the wood-fired hot tub or the chance to enjoy a tipple by the fire will certainly be enough to keep you coming back year on year.

Step up onto the wooden veranda to find an al fresco dining table, the perfect spot for breakfast and planning the day ahead. Step inside the canvas tent to find an open-plan living space that’s kept warm thanks to a cosy wood burner. Two bedrooms can be found with adjustable canvas walls for added privacy, whilst the third bedroom is located in a cabin area with access via a ladder – a great spot for kids to sleep. Completing the property is a self-contained pitch pod a few steps from the lodge with a shower and WC, and an abundance of garden space with a hot tub and fire pit for unwinding outdoors.

Don your walking boots for adventures around the village, heading 0.5 miles to the banks of the River Usk or 2 miles to the Talybont Reservoir. Challenge yourselves to a walk up the area’s highest mountain, Pen y Fan, which is reachable just 10 miles from home. Alternatively, jump on your mountain bike to follow the Talybont Forest cycle trail, an 11-mile route that offers wonderful adventures in the valley. Heading home you’ll find two Talybont-on-Usk pubs within 0.5 miles, the perfect last port of call before heading home for dinner.

We had the best time! Owner is 5 star, very accommodating and generous. The lodge was all that we imagined and very comfortable. Everything you need is provided. We are a family of 6 and we were all very comfortable and the kids felt at home. We will definitely visit again ! Excellent location !

We absolutely loved our time in Dove lodge. The weather was also fantastic which helped. But even still, the children were able to run free in the field, make friends and play games with the children in the neighbouring lodges. The lodge had all items we needed and the hot tub was an added luxury. We recommend lighting the hot tub straight away as Read moreit can take several hours to warm up, but its well worth the wait!! We walked along the path to the canal and local village which was lovely too. Hide

Dove Lodge at Gilestone Farm is an amazing glamping experience. We are a family of 5 with a 10, 8 and 2 year old. We found the tent to be absolutely spotless and it had everything we needed. Absolutely loved the location and the safari tent. Charles, the owner was very pleasant and gave us lots of information on surrounding area. He was also extremely helpful when we couldnt get our wood-fired hot tub warm enough, and gave us the use of an electric one in one of the lodges that had just been vacated.

Fab pub serving homemade food (The Star) which is 10 min walk up the towpath. Very quiet and relaxing and great just to chill out. Fire pit great for BBQs and all wood and equipment provided for lovely al fresco dining. Nice that Charles just leaves you to it

We absolutely loved our short stay at Dove Lodge. Everything was perfect. The safari tent was clean, the cooking facilities were great as were the comfortable beds!
