A small and peaceful retreat that is set on a working farm and is accessed via an easy stroll down a magical path and in to a beautiful woodland. This peaceful idyll offers a calm and luxurious shelter and is nestled under shady trees and bathed in dappled sunlight. It is cedar-clad and left natural on the outside, whilst on the inside this traditional shepherd’s hut is whitewashed and has a stable door painted in pale blue. Pretty matching window boxes complement every window and large terracotta pots welcome you on the doorstep, laden with daisies. The layout is open-plan and includes a kitchen/diner and a cosy sleeping area with shelving and storage.

There is comfortable fire-side seating with brightly coloured cushions on which to relax and keep toasty in front of the wood burner and the log basket will be full to the brim when you arrive. A two-burner gas hob is capable of whipping up a light supper and is neatly built into the chunky wooden work tops. To keep things chilled, a cold chest with ice packs is cleverly integrated and there is even space for a shower room with shower and WC inside.

Wake up with nature and enjoy breakfast overlooking the sheep in the field and the wildlife that surrounds you. A table and chairs on the stone terrace outside the hut is perfect for an alfresco breakfast and further down the garden is a fire pit with comfortable seating for chilled-out summer evenings. If all of this wasn’t enough to relax you horizontal, simply fire up the wood-fuelled hot tub, pop a cork and spill the time away under the stars.

There is off-road parking available for two cars and the property allows two dogs to stay with you at no additional charge.

The hut is beautiful and in a lovely location, it has everything you need for a weekend away. The hot tub under the stars was magical. It was clean, lovely and comfy. The hosts are so helpful with plenty of knowledge of the area and provide a fantastic hamper. My poach Bruno also had a great time with Merlin exploring the local area.

Micheal, Candida and Merlin and wonderful hosts, the Shepards hut is a wonderful magical place that you cant fail to relax in.

We had a brilliant time here. We love to escape from people and reality when we go away and the bluebell hut was perfect. The owners were friendly and helpful without being overbearing and we felt blissfully removed from the real world. The hut is fantastically well equipped and the hot tub was fab. The area was great for exploring too!

Wow! What a lovely relaxing holiday. The secluded nature of the hut means that you feel as if you have truly had a relaxing break. The boys (our dogs) loved it too, playing with the owners lab for hours on end. Can't wait to go back!

Really great place. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. The location was perfect and it was lovely having Merlin the dog come visit occasionally. It's my wife and I's plan to be back in the near future. Mr & Mrs McNally
