With bike hire available locally and storage easily arranged. The owner is able to offer advice on mountain biking and off-road biking during your stay. Hay on Wye is well worth the drive, lots of bookshops, unique stores and a spectacular drive through the mountains. History lovers will love Hereford, with its large cathedral housing the Mappa Mundi.

The owner is able to offer advise on mountain biking and off-road biking during your stay.
PONY TREKKING : The Black Mountains offer stunning riding trails year round, many of the operators run from March to October. For winter riding, or just to brush up on your skills, there's a very good riding school within a couple of miles of the cottage. WINE & DINE : Monmouthshire has made its mark as the Welsh Food County, with the well established Abergavenny Food Festival each September, Far Away Cottage is well positioned to enjoy the Festival, the 2016 National Eistedfod, as well as great local restaurants, including The Walnut Tree Inn (Michelin Star), The Hardwick, The Crown at Whitebrook (Michelin Star) & Toi et Moi.
COUNTRY PUBS: The Crown at Pantygelli is the wholesome local, a 20 minute walk along the lane and well worth it for Sunday lunch. The Dragons Head in Llangenny and The Bell at Glangrwyney, are all good Black Mountain Pubs. Head further along into the Golden Valley and The Temple Bar in Ewyas Harold & The Bridge at Michaelchurch are two of the S&L Teams favourites mid way through a long cycle ride.
TOWNS: Abergavenny is within 3 miles, with a weekly market, lovely new coffee shop with thriving art gallery, The Chapel & great local hotel for Tea Guild standard afternoon tea, there's a small cinema too. Crickhowell is within 7 miles, another local favourite, a tiny mountain town with local stores, hills to climb and tea rooms to revive. SLEEPS 2 - 4: Two upstairs bedrooms, a large king-size bedroom with room for a cot and views of the Sugar Loaf. Plus a twin bedroom. Cot and highchair available if needed.
EATING: Open plan kitchen stocked with kitchen essentials (oil, salt, tea etc.) with electric oven, hob, microwave and dishwasher. Wooden farmhouse table and chairs.
RELAXING: Open plan living space with cosy sofas and large wood burning stove with logs provided, electric heating included, TV, DVD, CD Player / Radio.
KEEPING CLEAN: Bathroom with bath, shower, basin and separate loo are off the main living space. Towels are included and there is access to a washing machine/dryer in owners property.
OUTSIDE: South facing private garden with lawn, pretty cottage flowers, outdoor furniture and a bike store available.
