Lovely cabin. It was cold when we stayed (March 24) but there were logs for the fire, an electric heater and electric blankets which kept us nice and warm. Books and DVD's to keep us entertained. The owner was lovely and welcoming and left us a lovely lemon drizzle cake, some little Easter eggs and fresh daffodils. Unfortunately, too cold to see muRead morech of the animals but it was March! Hopes of Longtown Village Store was amazing even providing a good range of vegan products. It is worth a visit. Hide

This quintessential log cabin overlooks the Cat's Back of the Black Mountains. It is miles away from anything, though with an easy access to a well-stocked village shop. We have searched high and low for a remote cabin, to avoid the loud sound of fireworks. I stayed with my dog for a mid week break, it was a perfect bolt hole for a relaxing break. This was my first holiday on my own, but felt at home in the little lodge in a stunning location.. The garden is fully enclosed so could let my dog out without worrying. Sue was really helpful when my sat nav took me to the wrong location, navigating the winRead moredy country lanes was an experience. Nestled in the heart of rural Herefordshire and on the edge of the Brecon Beacons Frontier Cabin is an ideal getaway from the hustle and bustle of town life. With all the trappings and style of a log cabin the owners make you feel right at home.

Cosy cabin in the middle of a valley in a lovely rural area. Comfy bed, lounge area with tv and dining/kitchen area with oven, stove and sink. Separate shower/toilet. The owner introduced me to the rescue horses/donkeys which are well cared for. There are several places to visit, even with dogs, after navigating typically windy country lanes.

This is a gorgeous spot, truly away from it all and so relaxing. The cabin is quite big enough and well equipped for two people and we had our two dogs. The garden is 100% secure, one of our dogs is an experienced escapist but despite his best efforts he could not find a way out. An excellent cabin to stay in, the owner Sue is lovely and was extremely welcoming as soon as we arrived, she had us let her know an hour before we arrived so she could light the fire to make the cabin extra inviting as well as lit candles and lovely lights on the front porch. Would highly recommend a stay here.

The cabin is absolutely perfect and very reminiscent of my cabin back in Canada. Sue is a fantastic host who is very kind and very accomodating. Beautifully quiet with stunning views. The location is ideal for exploring both England and Wales with mountains right on your doorstep. I definitely plan to return to Frontier Cabin annually.

Lovely cabin stay with our two Labradors. Very cosy and relaxing accommodation and great enclosed garden area. Made very welcome by farm owners during our stay and able to use part of farm fields to walk dogs at end of day. Lots of walks, places to visit locally. Amazing scenery with views to the Black Mountains.

You are welcomed by the friendly farm animals each morning, the enclosed garden was perfect for my labrador who is all too friendly when it comes to chickens! The cottage is basic but very cosy with a wood burner, candles and plenty of blankets. The bed was very comfortable and we slept so well because it was so dark and quiet. We cant recommend this cabin enough. From the moment you arrive by driving under the branches of a beautiful oak tree you know you are somewhere special.
