The romantic stretch of coastline surrounding Barmouth is legendary for being where the mountains meet the sea, and this fairy-tale hideaway radiates charm in abundance. Sleeping four guests across two pretty bedrooms, the property adjoins a converted chapel and provides a welcome retreat for families or couples seeking the simple pleasures of a seaside holiday. Enjoy stunning sunsets over the sea from the raised deck area – best enjoyed with an accompaniment of a cold tipple and delicious fresh seafood.

Inside, the cottage is as cosy as can be thanks to the underfloor heating, flame-effect electric fire and sinkable sofas, so you’ll soon be savouring that first sip of cocoa over family films and snacks. Transform local ingredients into delicious feasts in the adjoining kitchen/diner, choosing to dine around the table or perch at the breakfast bar. Both bedrooms are lavish and comfortable with crisp bedding, en-suite facilities and a TV apiece. On balmy evenings you can fire up the BBQ and sizzle up a storm, embracing the majestic vistas from the raised decked area. Bikes can be stored on the lower paved area for those wishing to explore on two wheels.

A 5-mile drive will bring you to the sparkling sands of Tal-y-Bont beach, and Barmouth itself 6 miles away is a haven for water sports, cycling and many other outdoor pursuits. Greet the day by catching the early morning surf, rewarding your efforts with a hearty breakfast feast in one of the thriving cafes nestled within the town’s narrow streets. Unravel the fascinating past of the area and navigate the heritage trail, visit Harlech Castle (5.5 miles), or ‘join the coast path for some awe-inspiring views. Porthmadog will tempt railway enthusiasts 15 miles away, and the sheer beauty of the snaking embankment referred to as “The Cob” is a must for photographers.

The cottage was beautiful, it was lean and tidy, loads of room but still felt cosy. Our two teenagers had plenty of space too. Off street parking next to the cottage is useful in this small village. We had an amazing week exploring north Wales and Snowdonia.

Well proportioned cottage, 2 good sized double bedrooms and very spacious downstairs. Ample parking and not to far from a lovely beach ( a 10-15 min walk). Great location from which to explore Snowdonia, Lleyn peninsular, Anglesey and much more So much history, lots of castles, charming villages, narrow gauge railways and breathtaking scenery.

This is a beautifully renovated cottage with five star accommodation. The only downside is the traffic noise which can disrupt sleep at night, if it is warm and you need to have the windows open. Otherwise it is in a good central location for visiting local sites of interest.

The cottage was perfect, really high standard of equipment in kitchen, lovely bathrooms and very comfortable bedrooms. Outside terrace decking needs bit repair but well furnished and bbq.

Lovely cottage with everything you need. Very clean and comfortable, the local beach was glorious and our dogs loved having it virtually to themselves although it was in January. Thank you for the welcome goodies. Would love to return.
