The property is a great place to unwind at, yet with so many place of interest vying for your attention in the area, you may not know where to start. A good place start would be Hay-on-Wye, which is famed for its characterful bookshops and no end of eateries. Stop by Talgarth Mills, or take a walk to Llyswen Hillfort. The Brecon Beacons is renowned for its scenery and walking trails. If you’re feeling energetic, try a well-prepared hike to the summit of Pen y Fan, the highest point in South Wales. Train enthusiasts will love the Brecon Beacons Mountain Railway; also those interested in Welsh history wouldn’t want to miss out on the Big Pit Mining Museum. There is also a fabulous local pub just a 5 minute walk away.
The cottage embraces its open-plan layout to good effect comprised of a main open plan living area and a separate shower room and is surprisingly roomy for two people. The living area has a dining table and chairs, couch and armchair all clustered round a wood burner, where full height windows look out onto the river. For entertainment, there is a radio for your use which is compatible with most mp3 players, smartphones and tablets. There is also a small TV/DVD in the main living area, together with a small selection of books and DVD's for cosy nights in. The kitchen area is fully fitted with electric hob, a combination microwave oven and a fridge with ice box. The bathroom includes a surprisingly spacious shower cubicle and WC. When it’s time to sleep, simply open the cupboard doors and a double bed pulls down easily into the room.
Stepping outside, there is a small front patio where you can relax and look out over the River Wye, or enjoy a BBQ together on a sunny day. There is also a more private lawn area to the rear of the property, an ideal space to sit back and enjoy a glass of wine. There is ample parking for one car close to the front of the property.
