Perched on the fringes of a traditional little village in the heart of the Forest of Dean, this delightful cottage has pretty touches in every room and offers a gorgeous retreat whether you want to escape as a couple or a family. The unrivalled view of the village below is breath-taking as you approach the front entrance of the property, offering you something sublime before you even step inside the holiday haven.

Heading into the cottage, you’ll discover all the charm and character of the dining room; a sympathetically restored space featuring an original bread oven and simple yet warm colour scheme. You’ll love being able to sit down with loved ones and enjoy a delicious supper together in the homely room.

Take a step into the lounge and you’ll find striking exposed beams and a warming wood burner, which combine to create a cosy atmosphere for you to unwind after a day of exploration. A subtle blend of muted tones adds to the calming aura of the space, where you can lounge on the comfortable leather sofas adorned with a plethora of cushions, curl up and watch a film together, or simply catch up with friends.

The contemporary kitchen, found at the rear of the cottage, is wonderfully equipped for you to perfect your culinary skills. From an electric oven, microwave, and fridge with ice compartment, to a dishwasher to save you getting your hands dirty and a washing machine if you so feel the need to use it, there are plenty of facilities available. The elegant Mandarin tiles also perfectly complement the worktops and tones, so not only will you have everything you need in one space, but it is a beautiful kitchen in which to cook.

On the ground floor you will also find a family bathroom. This beautifully tiled room gives you the opportunity to relax in style; draw a bath or enjoy a hot shower, washing away all of life’s stresses in an idyllic space.

When the day is done, climb the cottage style stairs to discover two gorgeous bedrooms, the first of which boasts a king-size bed at the heart of a chic, relaxing room. Elegant touches lend the room to be a pure delight to retire to at the end of a long day, plus it also has an exquisitely designed en-suite shower room with WC. The second of the two rooms also has a king-size zip-and-link bed (which can be made into a twin on request).

Outside, there are stunning views to be seen from the enclosed gardens, complete with a table and chairs. Whether you choose to admire the early morning sun whilst sipping a cup of coffee, or make use of the BBQ and enjoy dining al fresco of an evening, you’ll love the cottage’s outdoor space.

We stayed for a week location was great for exploring the Forest of Dean, although we did have to drive everywhere most places were within 10-20min drive. Cottage was cozy, warm and well equipped. We had an Indian takeaway (River Spice) from the village it was very good and would strongly recommend if staying.

Lovely cottage. Full of character, comfortable and well equipped. Ideally located for access into the Forest of Dean and the local towns, as well as the wider Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and South Wales. Great chippy just down the hill. We had a lovely week.

Lovely Cottage in good location on hillside, which means access from road (where you have to park) could be difficult for anyone not steady on their feet. Also internal staircase very steep. Owners very prompt when things needed sorting. Secure garden was great for our dog.
