Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this attractive cedar cabin on the border between England and Wales makes an ideal honeymoon hideaway or romantic couples’ retreat.

Escape from it all for a romantic break for two in this secluded cabin, just outside the picturesque town of Hay-on-Wye (1 mile). The stunning property has its own private veranda under the stars, and you’re also welcome to explore the owner’s beautiful garden and orchard. On arrival, you’ll have a fabulous welcome pack to enjoy. Wander into Hay to browse the quirky bookstores and cute cafes, or head south for remote hikes in the wild and rugged Black Mountains.

The simple, stylish property is the perfect backdrop to a memorable holiday. Its unique interior, with exposed woodwork, delicate drapes, and pretty soft furnishings, makes the open-plan space feel warm and inviting. Share a delicious meal for two at the dining table next to the window, before curling up in an armchair to read a book or watch a film on the TV. To the rear of the cabin, you’ll find the sumptuous double bed, cleverly separated from the rest of the living space with a curtain. Outside, admire the panoramic views from your veranda or dine alfresco on the patio, surrounded by trees and in the glowing warmth of the chimenea.

Hay-on-Wye is a truly unique town. As well as its plethora of bookshops, you’ll find fascinating antique stores, fabulous eateries, and exquisite architecture. In summer, join the locals at the riverside beach, The Warren, where you can enjoy a picnic and a splash in the water. There are also some gorgeous walks from here, following the River Wye. Heading south, you’ll come to the Black Mountains, where you’ll find rugged scenery and jaw-dropping views. Climb to the summit of Hay Bluff (6.5 miles), at the northern tip of the mountains, for a spectacular vista across the Wye Valley.

The property is so well situated to get into Hay-on-Wye without being in Hay. Such a lovely couple who own the property, and they have the cutest grandson, who we got to meet. A very comfortable place to stay with inside and outside place to rest a relax. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

Absolutely loved every second of being there. The cabin was cosy and comfortable, everything that we needed was to hand. The layout of the grounds ensured maximum privacy for all. Owners were a joy, nothing to much trouble, around when they were needed, not intrusive but friendly and warm. Definitely want to go back.

A beautiful escape in nature. We loved staying in the little pavilion, its the perfect location close to popular hiking trails in the Brecon Beacons yet you feel completely secluded in that beautiful little garden - all you can hear is little birds and the sun goes up right above the pavilion. It has everything you need and the host went above & beRead moreyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We found fresh flowers and a welcome gift upon arrival, and everything was sparkling clean. Thank you!! Hide

Basically adequate and pleasant, very clean and well cared for. Flowers and items for English breakfast were a nice touch. Maybe over priced for what is there. Hot water supply variable and not reliable. Needs (rubber? Mat) something to prevent slipping in the shower cubicle.
