CUTE AND COSY COTTAGE NESTLED ON THE BANKS OF THE RIVER USK SLEEPS 4 + 1

The cutest of cottages facing the River Usk, newly renovated it’s fresh as a daisy inside, with gorgeous handmade kitchen, large wood burning stove and huge family friendly sofa for obligatory holiday loafing! Nestled on the banks of the Usk, known as the best river in Wales for brown trout fishing, with an impressively engineered Chainbridge close by.

This is a beautiful Welsh bolthole, perfect for two, yet thoughtfully designed and very family-friendly for up to four. There are two country pubs approx. 1 mile away that serve good homemade food, and are a perfect alternative to the local pub across the river (this is currently under-going renovations). Set in the rolling Monmouthshire countryside, the cottage is well placed for exploring the Brecon Beacons National Park, a haven for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers, as well as pottering around the market towns and feasting on the local fayre which has helped give Monmouthshire its status as the food county of Wales. The area is good for cycling and bike hire is available locally.

The cottage offers TWO bedrooms: 1 king-size bedroom, 1 twin bedroom. Bathroom: with shower over bath and WC on the ground floor . Lounge/kitchen/diner: open plan with woodburner, (first basket of logs included) Smart TV and DVD. Kitchen area with electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Outside: enclosed private patio area with seating, fire pit and BBQ. Bike storage available. Amenities: parking for 2 cars, bed linen, towels, electric, stair gate available on request, central heating and Wi-Fi included. Regret no smoking. 1 dog welcome. Location: shop 2 miles and several pubs and river within walking distance. Arrival 4pm.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

WHAT OUR GUESTS SAY

Chris, 29th July 2019

A beautiful cottage in a good location. Met all of my families needs and dog friendly too. The owner even provided additional information after discussing kayaking. Very pleased overall

Wendy, 22nd July 2019

Pretty cosy cottage modernised well inside and lose to lots of lovely towns and historic sites including Raglan castle and Usk nearby with lovely flowers and cafes. Close to the river but not easy to access but to view. A little small downstairs if more than two of you.

Rebecca, 24th May 2019

The cottage was beautiful and very clean. The location was perfect; with the gorgeous river running right past. As a family with young children it was also top marks, with garden and indoor toys and books.

Royston, 19th April 2019

the cottage is in a very good location to explore this part of Wales, there are very good walks, so if you did take a dog it is a greatplace to be, if you are a fisherman the river Usk is a great fly fishing river. As a plants person i found the local garden centre very good and it is a plant centre in the full sence of the word. all in all a great Read morelocation for a peaceful break. Hide

Very comfortable cottage in an ideal setting. Lots of interesting and dog friendly places close by plus walking from the cottage. Usk worth at least one visit and is the start of a good circular walk which takes in the Castle. Lots of places to sit in the garden of the cottage. Very friendly area.

Mike, 22nd March 2019

Lovely cottage in a great location, every comfort available. Pub in walking distance and some lovely walks from the doorstep

Naomi, 4th January 2019

An excellent weekend! Very kind and helpful hosts. A beautifully, equipped and maintained cottage. A peaceful cottage to stop and rest in front of the log burner, as well as a great spot for walking near the stunning River Usk. Thanks so much for a wonderful welcome and stay.

Jen, 31st December 2018

Lovely cottage in rural location. We took our 2 daughters aged 4 & 5 and our dog and it was a perfect break- we were lucky with the weather. Very clean, warm & had comfortable beds. Owners very kind & happy to provide advise/help. We would definitely go back & recommend.

Paula, 24th December 2018

We absolutely loved this little cottage, which in actual fact was deceptively larger than we thought. Its location on the river Usk was enchanting. Perfectly suited for people with dogs, offering good countryside for walking. Equally suited for relaxing after walks by the log burning stove in this comfortably, cosy cottage.

Tanya, 26th October 2018

Lovely cosy cottage. Spotlessly clean. Had everything you could possibly need including tea cofeee matches washing up liquid etc. Nice touch with the flowers milk and welsh cakes left for us. Plenty of firewood for the log burner which made it nice warm and cosy on a winter evening. Theres also a bbq and fire pit in the garden which backs onto the Read moreriver. Walked to the local pubs where we were met with a warm welcome. Had a lovely relaxing weekend. Hide

Joy, 7th September 2018

The cottage was very comfortable and had a lovely garden. The owner was very welcoming and advised us where we could walk our dog. The cottage was spotless and in a very good location.

Andrew, 3rd September 2018

Lovely cottage adjoining owners house but quite secluded. The River Usk is a stones throw and can be seen from the garden. Facilities good and owners helpful and friendly. Good walking along the Usk Valley Way but some of the smaller footpaths overgrown and difficult to find.

Emma, 27th August 2018

What a wonderful holiday location. Great hosts, greated us on arrival, available but left us to enjoy our holiday. Perfect location for visiting local attractions. Wonderful comfortable beds, fluffy towels and spotlessly clean. We had an amazing time and will definitely stay again!
