Set within the grounds of a country house, this sizeable 18th-century barn conversion is the perfect choice for a multi-family holiday or friends’ get together.

This characterful converted barn is set in a peaceful and rural location, just 3 miles from Brecon. The property has a large garden – perfect for children and dogs – and there are many walks from the front door. Sleeping eight guests, the property is perfect for large families and groups of friends. With an open-plan layout and an impressive kitchen/diner, the accommodation is designed with entertaining in mind. Head into Brecon to explore the fantastic independent shops and eateries, followed by a stroll along the stunning Brecon and Monmouthshire Canal.

The 18th-century barn has been lovingly converted, with great care taken to preserve the original features. A quirky decor, combined with an eclectic selection of period furniture, creates a truly unique setting for your holiday. After a home-cooked meal in the farmhouse-style kitchen/diner, unwind in the study/library, where you’ll find a fabulous choice of books. Cottage-style stairs lead to the first-floor lounge, which has two roaring wood burners which you can curl up in front of on one of the colourful sofas. The bedrooms are split between the ground and first floors, creating a sense of privacy that would particularly suit two families. Outside, discover a large garden, with grassed areas for playing, along with a BBQ and outdoor furniture.

Located just north of the Brecon Beacons National Park, you only have to journey south for 3 miles to find stunning walking routes up and down mountains, alongside picturesque rivers and around breathtaking reservoirs. Pen y Fan (6 miles), the tallest peak in the national park, provides an exhilarating climb to its summit, where you’ll be rewarded with views as far as the Gower Peninsula. Less challenging, but no less beautiful, is Talybont Reservoir (12.5 miles). Enjoy a peaceful walk around the water’s edge, followed by lunch in one of Talybont-on-Usk’s traditional Welsh pubs.

The location is easy to find if you follow the well written directions and the house is beautifully maintained. On arrival we were amazed by the sheer size of the cottage! The photographs really do not do it justice. It is roomy and comfortable, with everything in good, clean condition. We loved the character of the cottage, with all the unusual fuRead morerniture and books in every room. The owner lives next door and is welcoming and friendly, without being overwhelming. We most definitely recommend. Hide

We were very impressed with the cottage. It felt much larger in person than we imagined from the photos. It is in a beautiful setting and feels very private as the farmhouse and cottage are set in beautiful gardens and look out over fields of sheep. The grown ups, children and dogs were all very happy. Thank you for a lovely stay.
