LAID BACK LUXURY & FAMILY FRIENDLY FUN IN THE WELSH HILLS

Graded 5 Star by Visit Wales, laid back luxury in the quiet hills beyond the towns of Brecon & Sennybridge. There are great days out to be had in the surrounding Brecon Beacons, from walking the highest South Wales peak, PenyFan, to enjoying yummy meals in one of the many country pubs in the area, that's if you can tear yourself away from the views.

The area is very good for cycling with routes for both mountain bikes and road cyclists, with bike hire available in Brecon and Hay on Wye. There is a local soft play centre just outside Brecon, encase of a rainy day with under 8's and Brecon has a small independent cinema too. Sennybridge is the closest town, best for the basics, head to Brecon for a proper Welsh town, complete with Cathedral, Regimental museum, cinema and mountaineering shops. Hay on Wye is a favourite, with heaps of independent stores and cafes. Explore the popular Dan yr Ogof caves nearby, or Big Pit for a cultural adventure, both of which are a great family day out. Games room: with table tennis and snooker. Play facilities: children’s play frame.

The accommodation offers TWO bedrooms: 1 king-size with en-suite bath and WC and 1 twin, en-suite shower and WC. Lounge/dining area: with woodburner, TV and DVD. WALK THE HILLS : Great walking from the door, located just above the Brecon Beacons National Park, there's lots of choice. As well as the main peaks of the Beacons, including Pen Y Fan, South Wales highest peak, the Epynt Way has just undergone a huge restoration with miles of walking very close by.

PEDAL THE PATHWAYS: There are cycle routes too for both mountain bikes and road cyclists, with bike hire available in Brecon and Hay on Wye, even Vespa hire available in Glasbury! Further into the National Park, the Visitor Centre often has star gazing events, as well as being a great place to plan a walk from.

ACTIVITIES WITH KIDS: There is pony trekking for all ages at adventure centre, Cantref, near Brecon with exceptional riding trails up into the National Park. They have an animal petting and small soft play area too, for small children. The Play Barn is a local soft play centre just outside Brecon, incase of a rainy day with under 8's and Brecon has a small independant cinema too. The National Showcave Centre for Wales in the heart of the Park, complete with dinosaur park and inpressive underground caves. Craig-y-Nos Country Park is also a lovely family day out.

FEAST & FAYRE: The Felin Fach Griffin, is a great country pub on the road from Brecon to Hay, recently named "Best Pub in Wales, dogs are welcome in the bar area and it's one of our favourites, well worth a trip!

TOWNS & CITIES: Sennybridge is the closest town, best for the basics, head to Brecon for a proper Welsh town, complete with Cathedral, Regimental museum, cinema and mountaineering shops. Hay on Wye is a favourite, with heaps of independant stores, very good cafes and a weekly Thursday morning market which is worth the trip for the bread alone.

SLEEPS 2 - 4 : Two bedrooms, a twin and a king-size. Bedding, towels and hairdryer available.

RELAXING: Large open plan sitting room with wood burning stove, tv, dvd, wi-fi, two large leather sofas and a large farmhouse dining table.

KITCHEN: Well equipped Shaker style kitchen with electric oven, induction hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, cafetierre.

KEEPING CLEAN: Two en-suite bathrooms, one with a bath, one with a shower. Washing machine, iron and ironing board available.

OUTSIDE: The barn is attached, one of two holiday cottages on the farm. There is a large parking area and terrace with barbeque, outdoor furniture, childrens play frame and additional play area for older children with table tennis and snooker.

We had a marvelous stay, just wish it could have been longer. We were warmly welcomed, we really appreciated the hospitality. The cottage is very comfortable and spacey with beautiful scenery all around. The lighting and fire make it cosy too. It was great that both bedrooms were en-suite meaning that my elderly mum didn't need to go downstairs in Read morethe night. The underground heating and fire means that it is a good winter destination. Hide
