In Marches country near Beguildy with pub and shop with post office. Close to medieval Clun, and market towns of Knighton, Bishop’s Castle, Montgomery, Ludlow and Presteigne . Newtown on the banks of the Severn is close by too. Enjoy a wide variety of eateries, independent shops, museums and galleries, quality plant nurseries and independent breweries. Explore 80,000 acres of remote common land and the Teme Valley offering a wide variety of bird life and animals. Walk Glyndwr’s Way and Offa’s Dyke National Trails, or one of the many footpaths, cycle routes and bridle ways through the beautiful Welsh countryside and enchanting Shropshire Hills. Visit the Observatory Spaceguard Centre, National Trust Powis Castle and other attractions in the area.

This stylish historic byre and stable, refurbished in 2019, has been designed to create a home from home experience with exposed beams, high ceilings and underfloor heating. On entering the property there’s plenty of space for your boots and to hang up your coats. Natural light floods the spacious lounge/kitchen/diner through the feature windows and doors with delightful views over the garden and beautiful countryside. Relax on the comfortable sofas in the lounge area, maybe watch a film on the TV/DVD, or enjoy a good book, nestled beside the cosy wood burner. If you decide to eat in, the kitchen has all the equipment you need with electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher, alongside thoughtful little extras creating a delightful space to prepare a meal. The dining table is ideally positioned by the picture window to enjoy a meal and plan your activities whilst enjoying the garden view. After a full day out choose from two contrasting bedrooms, one with a TV. There is one spacious double with en-suite shower room and WC and one family room with double bed and additional single bed on the quirky mezzanine level. Across the hall is the stylish shower room with shower and WC. There are lovely views from every window.

Outside, relax in the private garden with slate paths, decked area and patio, or enjoy al fresco dining with table, chairs and BBQ. Relax in the hot tub on the patio, sit by the fire pit and relish the night sky in a region with no light pollution, it’s amazing. There is also plenty of space for bicycles, canoes, and private parking for two cars. Please note the owners live on site though privacy is assured.

What a fabulous find. Madoc Barn overlooks a beautiful valley, beautiful walks straight from the cottage, including a brilliant 12 mile circular walk. Madoc barn was spotless, loads of pots and pans to be able to cook. the weather was wet and windy most of the time but Moira made sure we had enough fire wood for the log burner. This converted barn is just beautiful. It's very well equipped and has been tastefully and thoughtfully furnished, with amazing views across the valley. The cottage is set in a beautiful location, and has two outside areas to enjoy, giving access to the sun (when its out) all day nearly, the fire pit was a good addition and the bbq adequate. Inside had everything we needed to prepare meals etc and there was a great selection of books if the weather turned bad. Quiet location in a beautiful setting. Nice enclosed outdoor area for the dog. Beautiful open plan cottage with all facilities we needed and everything very well presented. Moira was very welcoming and hospitable.

Absolutely stunning. It is rare for me to be lost for words but Madoc's Barn is beautifully situated and provides a relaxing home from home. Moira went out of her way to make our stay nuts what we needed. The cottage is beautiful only the scenery that surrounds you can better it. We spent a really lovely and relaxing week at Madoc's Barn. The cottage is just beautiful and really well equipped. We didn't eat out at all and catered for ourselves all week. Madoc's barn was perfect to get away from it all for a few days. Stunning views over the valley, perfect for watching the sunset and spotting stars in the hot tub. Moira was an excellent host. Our pup thoroughly enjoyed long walks then snoozing by the fireplace. Total relaxation.

I have just come back from a 4 night stay with my partner and 2 dogs. OMG the views are amazing and the barn feels like home not a holiday rental. Could move in and live there today. It is so peaceful and after going out during the day was lovely to come back and have a drink on the decking looking at the beautiful countryside and later sitting in Read morethe hot tub in the evening. This was a dream cottage from the moment we entered. Lots of space, had everything you needed, complete comfort. The view from the garden looking at Wales was beautiful. Nice to see and hear the sheep, nature all around you. Great for dog walks. We made full use of the jacuzzi. Our host Moira was always helpful. It was our perfect Covid retreat.

This cottage is situated on the side of a valley which gives you wonderful views. Its a lovely holiday home and makes it easy to settle in and feel comfortable. Our host saw us on arrival and ensured we were safe and had everything we needed. We would like to return should the opportunity present itself.

Madoc's Barn is in a beautiful countryside location very peaceful tho the track to get to it is a little rough but not long. The hosts are a lovely couple and made us feel very welcome. This was the best location we have ever stayed .The barn has been lovingly restored and the raised borders and patios are just gorgeous . It is the ultimate relaxing getaway .The barn has only recently been finished and Moira and David were keen to know any suggestions to improve our stay .We would definitely recommend it .

Madocs Barn was the perfect place for our family to relax and unwind. The barn has been converted to a high standard and the gardens were just beautiful, especially the hot tub, and the views of the Welsh and Shropshire hills are just stunning. Owners David and Moira were so welcoming and couldnt do more for us.
