Period cottage with garden and games shed. Perfect for families, steam train enthusiasts, walkers, cyclists and your dog too. In Abergynolwyn, with Fairbourne beach, Machynlleth and Aberdovey all within 15 miles.
Treat yourselves to a stay in this appealing, stone cottage in the village of Abergynolwyn, in the southern swathe of the magnificent Snowdonia National Park. Up to four guests and two delighted dogs are welcome at the two-bedroom property, which is some 9 miles from the coast. Head out from the cottage to immerse yourselves in your beautiful surroundings. Return to the cottage to stoke up the wood burner or relax out in the fresh air of the leafy garden here.
Let yourself into the cottage, which still presents a wealth of character features, including beams and flagstone floors. Make your way into the kitchen to make a pot of tea and to cut a slice of the cake you have bought in a Welsh bakery. Call everyone to the farmhouse-style table to eat together. You also have a utility room and family bathroom downstairs. Amble into the lounge to stoke up the wood burner and find a film on the Smart TV. Climb the stairs to find the twin and king-size bedrooms. Watch the children head off to the games shed, where they will find table football and pool to play, while you light the BBQ in the garden on pleasant evenings. Gaze out at the enchanting views. You’ll find lockable shed storage for cycles and room for other equipment in the garden, while parking is available on the street – there is room for two cars, subject to availability.
Pack a beach bag and drive 11 miles to Aberdovey, where you can paddle in the sea and play on the wide sands. Go sailing or crabbing while you are here or arrange a boat trip out from the harbour. Hike a scenic, 12-mile section of the Wales Coast Path to Llwyngwril, looking out for seals, dolphins and porpoises as you walk.
