Set near the Brecon Beacons in Crickhowell, the town has a Saturday market, butchers, shops, restaurants and pubs all within walking distance. Abergavenny with its castle, shops and restaurants, is just 10 minutes by car. Hay on Wye, famous for The Hay Festival, is just 30 minutes. There is plenty of walking in the beautiful Brecon Beacons and The Black Mountains, many trails straight from the door or try a spot of fishing on the River Usk running just below the town. Golden Valley riding centre is just a couple of miles away for trekking in the hills, or try Triley Fields Equestrian for lessons and a cross country course. For more of a historical route venture towards the Golden Valley to explore several Norman ruins.

Inside, the accommodation is bright and light, with a neutral colour scheme, brightened with fun accents throughout each room. Set in a 3-storey building consisting of 3 apartments, the accommodation offers FIVE bedrooms: Ground floor apartment: 1 king-size and 1 twin, with additional single bed on request. Bathroom: with bath, shower and WC Lounge/diner: with Smart TV and DVD. Kitchen: well-equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. First Floor Apartment: 1 king-size and 1 double, with additional single bed on request. Bathroom: with shower over bath and WC. Lounge/kitchen/diner: open-plan with Smart TV, DVD and iPod Dock. Kitchen area, with electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer. Second floor studio-style apartment: lounge/kitchen/diner/sleeping area, open-plan with sofa bed. Sleeping area has a king-size bed. Shower room: with shower and WC. Kitchen area, with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment and washing machine. Outside: enclosed courtyard with garden furniture in the summer months and BBQ available on request. Amenities: ample off-road parking. WALK TO THE PUB: There are a few good pubs in Crickhowell, The Bear is withing walking distance. A cycle ride away heading towards Brecon is the Nantyffin Cider Mill, and The Bell has a good local reputation heading in the other direction towards Abergavenny.

GENTLE STROLLS: The River Usk is just beneath the town (fishing permits available from The Bridge Inn) and there are some lovely walks off to the right along the River, also great for a summer picnic. Cross over to the village of Llangattock and you'll find the Brecon & Monmouth Canal, with recently restored tow path, is great with a bike or for a relaxing amble.

STRIDE INTO THE HILLS: Set in the Brecon Beacons, you can walk right up into the Black Mountains from the front door. Table Mountain is just above Crickhowell and makes a fab morning walk. There is a mountaineering shop in the town, filled with maps and equipment for adventurous types!

CYCLE THE LANES: The National Cycling Championships come to Monmouthshire in 2014, and the road routes and MBT paths are exceptional in the area. Either bring a bike with you, or hire one from the friendly chaps at Drovers Cycles in Hay on Wye.

TOWNS: Crickhowell you'll love....Hay on Wye is a must see. Browse in Brecon en-route to Pen y Fan and try out the Felin Fach Griffin (our fav. pub) if heading that way. Abergavenny is great for high tea at The Angel Hotel and some good new design shops have opened nearby. The cities of Hereford and Cardiff are both less than an hour away.

SLEEPS 5 - 12: Five bedrooms, three king-size, two twin, plus the option of 2 additional single z beds being added, plus a sofa bed. A travel cot is available too. Top notch bedding and fluffy towels included.

RELAXING: Each floor has a living space, with the largest being on the ground floor, there are stylish sofas and hand made bean bags, perfect for everyone relaxing on one level...or enjoying a spot of peace and quiet on their own private floor! 3 large Smart TV's, Blu-Ray players, Sound Docks and Wi-Fi.

DINING: Each level has a kitchen with electric ovens, hobs, microwaves, dishwasher, fridge, freezer in the main kitchen and all the pots, pans, plates etc you could possible need. Yummy local welcome gift on arrival.

BATHING: A bathroom on each level, two with a bath, shower, basin and loo, one with deluxe shower, basin and loo. Soft towels included as well as local toiletries.

STORAGE: There is private off road parking in your own gated car park. A hall way with cool boot rack, and space for a pushchair. Cycle storage too.

GARDEN: Private terrace with barbeque. The castle grounds are also right round the corner for stretching the legs!

OTHER STUFF: Fully central heated. One dog very welcome, downstairs only please. Books and games, cot & highchair all available.

ACCESS: The town of Crickhowell has a bus service with links to the train station in Abergavenny for those prefering to travel by public transport. For guests who are driving there is a gated private car park with the accommodation.
